Chapter 43: Are you sure?

That was quite a long speech. I feel like I can be a therapist in this world. After all, I know absolutely what's going to happen in the future. The main events shouldn't change even if I alter some small events. Hopefully, everything will still go in order.

I let my words sink into Lexi's heart as I gave her a different way to look at the situation. I wish that these two fathers and daughters would hurry up and repair their relationship already. "To be honest, you don't hate your father, right? You are probably just hurt at him," I suggested as she looked at me. "Perhaps, " she muttered. It's not perhaps. It's the truth. This is how she felt in the novel. She channelled that hurt feeling into bullying Damian with Camilla. Which, I wish to avoid this time.

"Are you sure he will still willingly talk to me?" whispered Lexi. She said it in such a small voice that I almost didn't hear it. "Well, you've me to help you," I whispered back "We're friends, of course, I'll help you. I ask Uncle Robert to come here and then I leave you two to talk. Don't worry I'll wait in the corridor in case you'll need me,". Lexi's eyes grew so large that she looked so hopeful. I couldn't destroy this hope hence I walked up to the door and asked one of the maids to call Uncle Robert. The maid looked indifferent, and I whispered "If he doesn't come to say that something happened to Lexi. Make it sound as if it was life dangering". The maid looked shocked but still did as she was told. Lexi looked worried at me and asked if it was alright to do such a thing. I looked at her and replied, "Well, wouldn't this check whether or not Uncle Robert cares for you?". She didn't say anything to retort to me and only silently looked at the clock.

It had only been 5 minutes since the maid went away yet the door was already flung open by the duke who came rushing in saying "Lexi, are you alright? What happened? Princess, what happened?" he asked worriedly as I looked at Lexi. My glance seems to say, I told you so. I looked at Uncle Robert and gestured for him to sit. Lexi began to pour some tea for him. Uncle Robert drank it all in one breath and commanded us to tell him what was wrong. I looked at Lexi and said "You should ask your daughter. I believe she has something to tell, more like talk to you. I leave you guys here first," whilst I walked out in silence.

My job here is done. What's left is for them to work it out. I really hope they can re-establish their relationship. Maybe if they do, Lexi won't bully Damian and he will have a delighted childhood. I mean his childhood did have a hand in creating the vicious him in the future. Maybe he won't kill me as well.

The most important thing right now is for me to live. I must survive. I'm not sure I can go back even when I'm dead. So why not make the best of my life now? My life in my past life wasn't even the best. I'm looking forward to living a good and long life in comfort.
