Chapter 55: Getting ready (2):

Lexi gestured towards the maids to help bring the dress and other stuff and led me back to the bathroom where I was meant to take a quick bath and hop into my outfit. "I'll wait for you next door call me when you're done," uttered Lexi as she left me with the maids who would assist me.

"Please wait for me outside, I'll call you guys when I'm done," I whispered to the maids as they nodded and left. I wasn't quite used to people assisting me even in the bathroom so I asked them to leave. Also, I wanted some alone time to think about what to do.

What would I say when I meet them? They're not really my parents now, are they? Uhhh. Why the hell was I brought here? And how can I go home? Thought like these filled my head and I failed to realise that my eyes closing in tiredness.

The next time my eyes opened was when the maids shook me awake. They thought something was wrong when I didn't answer them so they rushed inside. "Are you alright milady?" one of them asked as I nodded.

They helped me finish cleaning myself and helped me get dressed. My hair was wet as I washed it, so one of them was trying to make sure my wet hair doesn't touch my dress. I wonder how I was going to dry my hair now? I mean I don't think there is a hair dryer in this place.

But more importantly, I don't even feel tired but why did I fall asleep? I also had a very strange dream again. I dreamed of what was going to happen when I meet my parents. Weird dream huh? I couldn't see their faces clearly but I could see the room and hall clearly. So weird. But why would I dream of something like that? And last time that dreams about the young lady. Who exactly was she?

I quickly forgot about this because my attention was turned towards the mirror. "My lady, this dress fits you perfectly," whispered a maid as I nodded. It really was pretty. The shoulder straps looked so big underneath my skinny body but it wasn't that bad. "My lady, come this way to the drawing room," muttered another maid as she helped me wear the shoes. I almost fell again but luckily she caught hold of my arm.

"You alright milady?" she asked as I nodded. I think her name was Violet. She was the maid that was guarding the door this morning when Lexi and Uncle were talking. I had quite a good impression of her. She was really sweet and nice to me.

The maids led me outside towards the drawing room where I noticed an object that was similar to a hair dryer. The only difference was it used magic to produce heat instead of energy. They quickly finished drying my hair and Lexi walked in along with the grand duke and Damian.

"How do I look?" I asked standing up. My hair was longer than my shoulder so they were just floating there. "Woah," they whispered together. Was I that pretty? I looked at myself in the mirror and wow. I never realised Camilla looked so pretty before. But after a good wash and wearing some pretty clothes, I realised she really is a pretty person. "The dress suits you perfectly," Lexi announced as she turned me back and forth to look at the dress.

She placed me back onto the chair and whispered something towards the maids. They then nodded and began to brush my hair. In a few minutes, they were done and had added a hairpin/ clip onto my hair. The hairpin/ clip was decorated with little white flowers and it gave me a more youthful look. I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked so different than usual.

"You look really pretty," muttered Damian. This earned everyone a surprising look because this whole time he hadn't complimented me yet so people were quite surprised. He looked really surprised and embarrassed that he said such a thing. I chucked and muttered a thank you in reply.

Damian POV:

Oh.

I finally realised how difficult it is for ladies to get dressed.

Usually, I would always have to wait for Eveline now I finally know why.

It's actually quite a long process they need to go through just to find a suitable dress.

I think even the grand duke understood that as we both shared a knowing smile when the two ladies were still talking about dresses.

I mean they all look the same to me. They probably are as well.

Did I really say that out loud?

I thought it was just in my head.

Omg.

Luckily she didn't have such a weird response.

But what exactly is this feeling in my heart?
