Getting drunk together

Looking at the beautiful night scenery from the Balcony, so many memories over her pathetic life came to mind… how she wished life would be as beautiful as the scene before her. She laughed scoffing at some words she said back in the days

I will not be like those women who give up on their marriage. I will do everything to fight for it

Looking at her situation and how she was feeling, she could understand how they felt and why they gave up everything.

"… How I wish I could turn back time… I must've been stupid and blind" she murmured in between her low sobs. She was deep in thought looking up in the sky to notice the presence of someone.

He stood there watching her. He could feel her loneliness, fear, heartbreak… she was in her world. She could not share what she was going through with anybody. Even with her best friend, she was shallow about what was going on

It may have been years since they last saw each other but they were close

He walked slowly and stood behind her before wrapping his arms around her from the back.. she was startled and jumped in fear, " …aaah…" before she could say anything he wrapped his arms around her even tighter

"Hello gorgeous…" she stopped fighting the moment she heard the voice. She knew it too well. His voice has always been able to calm her down even in high school and university

"Come on Jeff… How could you ambush me like that…? You need to cab that habit of yours" she back kicked him before he let go jumping up holding his leg feigning hurt. "Ouch… ouch.., you want to break my leg…eish… what a way to welcome a friend." He laughed letting go of his leg and standing next to her. Looking at his acting, she laughed out loud while wiping her tears being careful for him not to notice.

He saw everything but pretended to see nothing looking down at the city light and stars in the sky, "it has been years but you have never stopped admiring the night view" he signed deep down but he was happy to see her laugh

"Well, it makes me feel special… and its peaceful just looking at its brightness even with the darkness surrounding it makes it seem awesome" she answered causally but he could relate her answer to her feeling at that moment.

He looked up and then nodded at her response. He turned slowly to look at her side profile. That look on her always drove him crazy. Be he was not crazy enough to hold and kiss a married woman. He was so tempted to do so. His heart was beating so fast. "… It's always peaceful at night when you have a lot in mind and want some alone time."

She didn't say anything and gave him a glance before looking back up. She may be drunk but she was holding herself well. He had to applaud her for that, "how have you been?"

She laughed at that question again and again. Normally, she would just answer right away but here she was not sure how to answer, "Life has been life… been busy lately and less busy the last five years… oh dear… don't mind me… I have been good. Life has been good and rewarding" she scoffed saying the last few words. It's indeed been rewarding. She was rewarded for being a fool and an idiot. Too trusting and in love

" When did you come back?"

" Today. Just landed at the airport and came straight to see you and to welcome you back to the community of doctors. I also wanted to catch up with the rest of our friends." he didn't hesitated to lie. What friends? He was there to see her. He couldn't care less about the others. If she had noticed she could've seen him walking straight to her when he came in. the others were not offended. They long knew he only had eyes for her. It had not changed

But there were some who felt jealous of their relationship. Their friendship had been strong for a long time. Though she got married, he still had eyes only for her.

Seeing them talking at the Balcony for a long time, Mercy came with a bottle of wine and a glass to join them. She handed him a glass and left after chatting for a while. It was more of her entertaining the guest as the one who they organized the party for had been kidnapped by a handsome prince

He didn't want to drink but she asked if he could keep her company while she drink…he could not say no to her. Unknown to the two of them, a busybody was taking pictures off them drinking alone at the balcony. The position of the one taking the photo didn't show the face of the man but the woman clearly. It seem she was the target

The two drunk for a while until she could not anymore. She was too drunk and nausea… seeing her uncomfortable face he knew what was to happen next. He swiftly carried her in his arms and rushed to the bathroom that was a few meters from where they were. Before he could open the door, she poured everything on him.

" Ohh sorry.. I could not control it." She struggled to stand when he placed her down to allow her empty everything properly.

"It's okay. Finish up…." He didn't finish his second when the second wave of her disgusted vomit poured on his clothes again. She turned in time to finish on the sink before her. Not for a second did he knit his brows nor did he block his nose. He was there taking care of her filth lovingly

He took off his coat as Mercy came in to help. She saw him rushing with her and knew something was up…

" How is she?" she asked as soon as she opened the door.

"I don't think she is feeling good. I'll take her home." He carried her in his arms again in all that filth

"No need. She has a suite his and change of clothes. You could take her there to freshen up. You could also freshen up there and your clothes. Here is the car card" Mercy didn't hesitate to hand over her friend to Jeffrey. They have known each other for a long time and she had no reason to distrust him…
