A rhythmic pulse courses in vacant ears. A blaring light burns tired eyes. Once reality sets in, a heart beats faster in a panic. The machine mimics the new pattern. 'Where am I?' Crash's voice reverberates within his consciousness. There's a throbbing pain in the back of his head. 


He rises in bed to find himself at the hospital. While glancing to the side, he notices a mirror. Shakey fingers grab the plastic frame. His bloodshot eyes blink rapidly. Crash notices the smear of makeup and feels regret. He places the mirror back onto the nightstand.


A cough in the room catches his attention. On the right rests another patient behind a curtain. The other's voice sounds familiar. 


"Alex is that you?" The question is barely a whisper.
