Chapter 30: A Cold Breeze

The air is chilled. Word of a snowstorm over the weekend drives people together. Friends meet up to hang out with one another before the inclement weather arrives. They want to socialize before the storm shuts everyone indoors. As the final bell on Friday releases the students, they scramble to find their friends. Some parents pick up their teen along with a companion to spend the night over regardless of the weather. Crash stands beside his bike and waves as a friend approaches.

"Hi Karma!" He calls out. "I hope today wasn't too busy."

"None at all," she waves back. "Hey, is that your new bike?"

"Yeah." Crash replies while extending it out at arm's length. "I guess Mama thought the reflectors would be helpful…As for the color…it's more of her taste."

"You don't like red?" Karma chuckles.

"It's a good color," he retorts. "But, it's not my favorite. I prefer cooler tones."
