The next morning Kit dressed in a rush and hurried out of his room. He stopped at the top of the stairs and smoothed down his curly hair. He forgot to straighten the locks like Harry always did, but he decided he would do the chore later. Instead, he paused and gazed down at his clothes. His brother liked leather and shirts with sequences and flashy scarves. Kit wore his gray slacks and a plain blue sweater. He shrugged at the clothes, and he took the stairs in twos. All the time he hurried, he told himself he wasn't searching for Gunner North.


Last night Gunner called him a liar. That was true in more ways than one. He did want to talk to Gunner again. It would only be for a second, and Kit planned to do a better Harry impression… even with his wild curls and dull clothes.
