Chapter 62: Gareth's bully.
In the back of his father's new Lincoln town car, Gareth waited for Simon as the man loaded his luggage and prepared for this damn drive to the mountains. He felt like a teen again as anxiety made his palms sweat. While Gareth watched Simon out the back window, a woman Gareth didn't recognize slid into the driver's seat and then turned around and smiled at him.
"Water, sir?" She handed Gareth a water bottle over the seat and grinned again. "If you need anything on this drive, tell me, and I'll do it. If it's too hot or cold or if you need to stop, I can help."
"Who are you?" Gareth asked as the door opened, and Simon tossed himself into the leather seat next to him.
"Gareth," Simon nodded at the short brunette in the front seat. "This is Tammy. She has been with us for a month now, and she's going to be driving."
"What happened to David?"
"Sick with the flu. He's been throwing up all night."
