Chapter 86: Are ya lost?

It was a rare occurrence that Dan or Zane made a mistake. The men were seasoned and careful and thought about everything they did. But Keyon supposed that if there were a day when these men would be distracted and make an error, it would be today.

In the car, Keyon’s eyes shot to the gas light. The little glowing gas icon had been on for miles. At any moment, their car could be on the side of the road. It had been a long time since he’d driven into the mountains, and he didn’t recall the fact that there were so few gas stations.

He swore in his head as the car took the next bend. No gas stations. More trees.

Fuck.

“Still no service.” Zane glared at his phone. “How are we doing, Danny-boy?”

“Nothing yet,” Dan muttered.

Keyon was simply happy that the bodyguard didn’t apologize again. He didn’t want to hear it.

They drove in silence. Zane stared at the map on his phone. The picture showed their car in a lake.
