Chapter 92: Meeting Paxton.

After Keyon tucked his guns into his pockets, he explained his plans to Zane. The bodyguards drove away, scowling. He didn’t care what they thought. As far as Keyon was concerned, he looked forward to being alone. He needed time to think, and the mountains were an excellent place to do that and clear his head.

     Keyon carried his overnight luggage into the main house. In the entryway stood an older woman in her sixties.

“Cletus’s housekeeper?” Keyon asked.

“I’m Miss Ronald.” She waved for him to follow her. She didn’t say more, and he got the feeling this woman was no-nonsense. That’s the type of worker Cletus liked to hire.

They marched through the house and out the back of the massive log cabin. Passing the swimming pool and the seating area with the outdoor fireplace, they started on a small stone path. The path ended at a little cottage tucked into the trees.
