Familiar Scent

Sephirah sat down outside, in the compound drinking tea. It was a beautiful evening and the sun set made the evening even more beautiful. She put her cup close to her nose and inhaled the very sweet smell of the Jasmine before she drank from it.

She had not gone to see Ashley since the last weekend and now another one was fast approaching. Not like it was her job to always go visit Ashley but she was just being concerned and felt Ashley might need some of her visits since Damon could be somewhat scary at times.

Ashley was still not as free as Sephirah wanted her to be around her. Sephirah didn't want any too much respect from her and she wanted Ashley to see her as a friend. Not that Ashley thought of her as an enemy or something but she wanted Ashley to feel free and relate with her like they've known each other for a longer time. But then maybe that would still take some more time since this whole demon thing was still new to her.

Sephirah sipped from her cup again. A gentle breeze blew and it carried a strange scent. It was a familiar scent.

She knew this scent very well it was from somebody she wasn't expecting and hasn't even seen in a very long while but why would she suddenly perceive it?

This could only mean one thing! Sephirah looked around her but didn't see anyone and just then, it started to drizzle so she stood up and went inside.

Somebody was in her house and she knew really well who it was. When she got to her parlor, she saw the lady sitting gracefully on one of the couches. Sephirah suddenly grimaced. What did she come for?

The lady looked up at her and smiled.

"Hello Sephirah, it has been a long time." She smirked. "Did you miss me?"

Miss her? That shouldn't even be a question.

"What are you doing here Sephora?" Sephirah asked ignoring the lady's question and still grimacing, showing clearly that she wasn't happy to see the lady and in her house again for that matter.

"Come on, wouldn't you at least welcome me? It's been like four hundred years since we last saw each other." Sephora said.

"There's no welcoming to do when you came uninvited and why are you on here on Earth have you finally neglected your duties?"

Sephora sighed before replying. "No I have not I am just here to help."

Help? Sephirah wanted to laugh.

Everytime Sephirah asked her for help and she helped or attempted to help she always made a mess. She only made things worse. The lady had so much power but refused to use it well. And besides she hadn't seen or heard or even needed her help for the past four hundred years and now she suddenly shows up from nowhere even without anyone asking, she's here offering to help.

What does she even want to help her for, she clearly wasn't in any trouble or at least not yet so what help was she talking about?.

"You want to help or you want to cause another problem which one?" Sephirah asked her sounding sarcastic.

"Sister you don't have to be a nuisance right now. I'm here to help."

As the word 'Sister' came out of Sephora's mouth Sephirah frowned.

"So you remember I'm your sister huh? And what help are you talking about? Why would you just suddenly just show up and say you want to help? Clearly I don't need your help, I haven't needed your help for the past four hundred years, I have learnt to help myself and I can take care of whatever besides, Damon is here." Sephirah said and folded her arms.

"I see you still hate me but you were the one who left remember?" Sephora smirked and stood up to face her sister.

"Anyway," she said again becoming serious. "Speaking of Damon he is the one I am actually here to help. We all know what the SAGE are planning and from the look of things, Damon might really need help. They're gonna be here in a few days."

In a few days?

"We already know about the SAGE and why do you think we will need your help or Damon will need your help? Did anybody send you or are you trying to get something out of this?" Sephirah asked looking at her suspiciously.

What could she possibly want? Sephirah felt that she wasn't just here to 'help' as she said. They was more to her help.

"Look I know you hate me after everything and I know I misused my powers and caused a lot of mess but I promise I have become a better person this last few years or at least I'm trying. Nobody sent me and I know you didn't ask for my help but this is an opportunity I would love to use to show you this one time that I'm not making any more messes, and maybe... get my sister back?"

They stood there looking at each other for a while before Sephirah cleared her throat.

"I'm not sure about that." Sephirah said and let her hands fall. "Anyway Damon will think of something have you forgotten he's also powerful? No matter what he's still Dracula remember? And besides you're even no match for him, not to even talk of the SAGE".

That was true. Damon had become another very powerful being in the underworld like his father and she was no match for him. The SAGE were also powerful, even though not as powerful as Damon but no matter how much power she had she was no where near them also and now the SAGE are even more powerful soo...

"You don't understand Sephirah, this is not only about him but his mate too." Sephora yelled surprisingly.

Right! His mate! That could be Ashley.

But still, Sephora didn't need to be involved. She, Damon and Zuka were already enough. And why was this woman so worried?

"Don't yell at me." Sephirah said with a frown.

Sephora sighed. "I promise I am not causing any more troubles" She reassured calmly.

"Well, I have a hard time believing you." Sephirah said still not accepting the fact that her sister was here to help and walked to a couch then sat on it. "Can you leave now I'd like to have my house to myself and also don't come here uninvited again." Sephirah told her.

How did the lady even find her?

Sephora shook her head. "I know you won't be easy to talk to but alright." She said looking disappointed before she vanished.

Sephirah sat there staring at the empty space in front of her, thinking.

Why would Sephora be so concerned and just leave home to come and offer help to somebody that was even more dangerous?

Sephirah couldn't still let go of the feeling that Sephora had more to her help. She didn't feel like the lady wanted to make a mess this time but she felt like the lady was scared, really scared for Damon and his mate. So there had to be more to that help.

It couldn't just be wanting to "get her sister back", or "prove to you that I am not making any more messes".

She needed to talk to Damon about this. She didn't know when the SAGE would show up and if Sephora was telling the truth then just a couple of days more and they would have arrived and only Hades knows what would be their stupid first trick.

Sephora was her twin sister. She still is but Sephirah couldn't remember the last time she referred to Sephora as her sister. They once used to be very close siblings and the resemblance between them was and is still so much that people who didn't know them well would mistake one for the other. What could be used to differentiate one from the other was that Sephora had a tiny mole on her left cheek while Sephirah didn't. Both ladies were pure beauties.

Sephora also possesed more powers than Sephirah. Which was another difference between the twins. That was also why most of the time Sephirah needed her help to do things Sephora's power could carry. The  two of them used to always work together, were always there for each other. But things became alot different after their mother died. Sephora just became a totally different person and Sephirah felt really bad. At first she thought the girl just missed her mother and would soon get over it but she was wrong.

Even though Sephora never denied her sister help when she needed her help, it was as if she didn't know how to use her powers anymore and only made every situation or problem on ground worse.

This kept going on and Sephirah couldn't take it anymore. Her sister didn't have her time and never cared to. Sephirah felt like Sephora had forgotten that she had a sister. She had lost her mother and also her sister. There was really nothing she was doing at home again and that was why she felt so grateful when Damon had asked her to come with him.

She needed the break. But today, that break had come to an end. Sephora was on earth now and surprisingly shows up at her house, looking so desperate to offer help.

Sephirah looked outside the window, it was raining. She thought of what to do. She hadn't heard anything new about the SAGE until what her sister just told her. Of course it will be strong news back in the underworld, what the SAGE have planned. And since Hades has not done anything then they feel free to take on with their plan and hurt the most cherished son of Hades.

They should know that if Hades decides to intervene then they'll all be finished.

Who knows, Sephora might go to see Damon to tell him that she wants to help and if she does, Sephirah wasn't sure if Damon would agree to her help or not.

She didn't want to trust Sephora yet, she didn't want another problem from her 'help'.
