Devil's Followers

The tension in the room was palpable as everyone fell silent for a moment, pondering the implications of what they had heard. Catallina stepped up to the Temple Priest gently, realizing the weight of the responsibility the man carried.

"Are the shards dangerous?" asked Catallina.

The priest took a deep breath and let out a long exhale. "Very dangerous," looked Catallina seriously then continued, "From the shard of this barbaric creature, those who possess it will gain evil powers and be able to get in touch with the devil, with his trickery he will grant all the wishes of the owner, once they are fully affected, the Devil will feed on his soul and take over his body."

Theo was curious and asked. "You said that the shards are scattered all over the world. I wonder, what would happen if all the demon shards were collected?"

"The events of 100 years ago will repeat themselves, a world full of deceit, evil and culminating in a time of darkness!" explained the priest.

Meanwhile, Deputy General Tobias nodded in understanding. "So, that symbol is part of their evil plan. And this black liquid is the cause of this plague."

The priest nodded.

"They must be stopped!" shouted Gorstag, his voice full of anger. "They are causing much suffering."

The priest nodded seriously, realizing the urgency of the task they faced. "We must move quickly to stop them before more victims fall."

They all knew that time was not on their side. The silence in the room felt heavy like a huge weight was piling up on their shoulders. With the information they now had at their disposal, there lay a strong lead on how to stop the followers of the Devil's teachings and dig deeper into the true source of this rampant plague. This was the first step in this perilous journey, but they braved it with determination to save the town of Blanchill.

The priest, as their spiritual leader, looked at them seriously. His deep and meaningful gaze penetrated deep into their souls. He knew that what he was about to say next was a heavy burden, and a very difficult decision to accept.

In a firm voice that cut through the silence, the Reverend spoke, "You must not tell any of this to Lord Elias."

Deputy General Tobias looked surprised at the order. He immediately expressed his disapproval, "Why, Priest? The Lord is our leader, he should know everything we have discovered!"

But the Priest remained adamant, his eyes not leaving the listening faces. "Because I have a very deep suspicion, General. I suspect that Lord Elias has been caught up in the influence of the Devil's teachings. And even worse, I suspect that he is trying to revive his dead children with the help of dark forces."

Suddenly, tension crept into the room. Catallina, who had always viewed Lord Elias as a good leader, was trembling in fear. "But that's impossible, Priestess! The Lord is a good leader."

The reverend only sighed deeply, hinting that what he said was a huge burden. "The lure of the Deceiver of Doom is powerful, Princess. The power to bring the dead back to life is something hard to resist, especially for a father who has lost his children."

Now, questions and uncertainties clouded their minds. In their quest to save the city, they face a deeper threat than they imagined, perhaps even from the very people they trusted all along.

Theo looked at Priest with a puzzled expression, trying to make sense of all the information that had just been revealed. He knew that the situation was getting complicated, and the suspicion of Lord Elias was something very serious. However, he felt the need to further reassure himself and the others. "But how can we be sure of these suspicions, Priest?"

The priest replied in a voice full of secrets, as one who had long monitored the movements of the followers of the Devil's teachings. "Because I have been monitoring the followers of the heresy. They have a characteristic that is easy to recognize. When they are exposed to the power of the Bringer of Doom, a black liquid will ooze out from the edge of their eyeballs for a while, and then go back into the eye."

Gorstag was dumbfounded by this explanation. He tried to imagine how the black liquid came out of someone's eye and looked very disturbed. "Have you seen that mark on anyone in this city?"

The priest nodded seriously, confirming their concerns. "Yes, I've seen it on one of the citizens. It's proof that the Devil's followers have already possessed this town."

Deputy General Tobias gritted his teeth in tension. The situation they faced felt increasingly grim, and the news that the Devil's followers were already in the city was a heavy blow. "This is all too hard to believe."

The priest sighed, feeling bad for having to deliver news that was so difficult to accept. "I know it's hard to believe, but I've been investigating this for some time. We must move quickly to stop their plans before more victims fall."

They all felt tense at what they had just heard. Lord Elias, the leader they had admired and trusted all these years, was now the subject of very serious suspicion.

However, they also knew that they had no time to doubt the priest who had been investigating this situation for so long. It was time to act and save the town of Blanchill from the deepening darkness. Their decision will decide the fate of many people affected by this mysterious plague.
