Duel

I spent all night reading some books to understand better how magic works. Its unbelievable to think that i was chosen to be one of Hestia's servants without knowing anything about magic.

In one the books, its written that magic is unleashed only in situations where the user really needs it, with hard training or meditating. This is the way to have contact with it for the first time, after that it gets easier attempting to use the magic. Most people awakens their magic around 13 ou 15 years old.

Well, there is nobody to help me training, so what's left is meditating, the most boring part.

As time passes, i wake up and hear my parents screaming for my name, and after that i realised that the entire house is destroyed. Were we attacked? I'm not wounded, was i saved again?

In the next morning, my parents explain to me that i unleashed my mana flux, which destroyed the the entire house, luckily no one had any major injuries.

We spent the rest of the night in a friend's house, and in the following day a

wagon came to pick us up. Then we finally arrived in the city of Hestia, and went to the place that was considered "their" home.

"Didn't expect to see so many people around here" said my dad, and then my parents were called to some place and i was guided to a pretty ominous one.

It was a pretty cold and silent room, with two doors in the front and a radio to the left in a corner. Everybody looked serious, not saying a thing.

After all this tension, we see Eduard Hestia appear in a platform.

"Welcome everyone! You all were selected to participate in the Hestia's Tournament. This is the second phase of the tournament, with the first one being getting here, Hahaha." Is he the family leader?

"The second phase is a duel, and the winner is classificated to enter the Hestia's house and get all of its benefits!"

"Behind me is a list of all of the participants and who they will be fighting" he says as a board appears behind him, showing all sorts of names.

And after looking through, it seems that i will be fighting "Harry Reynolds"? I dont recognise his last name, probably came from some unknown place.

"I assume all of you have seen the list, so lets start the first duel! With Jonathan Hestia versus Tawn Blin."

Jonathan Hestia? He is probably one of Hestia's sons, but what is he doing here? This is a test to enter the house, in theory he wouldn't need to do this. Well, it will be nice seeing a Hestia's son fight. I dont know his opponent, but i will not underestimate him.

Both of them enter the doors in the front, and we hear a voice coming from the radio.

"Its a beautiful day for some fights! Who will enter the Hestia's house?"

What the? Are we in a arena with a crowd and narration? I thought it was a privave tournament! What would happen if i missed a move? everyone would laugh at me? I wasn't expecting this, now i'm nervous.

"And here they come! Jonathan Hestia, and Tawn Blin! The first clash of the morning!"

"An Hestia in the tournament? What are you doing here?" Says Tawn

"None of your business." Jonathan responds

"Are you angry? I will beat you and make you open your mouth. Water spell sixth form: Water Dragon!"

"Tawn runs towards Jonathan and uses the Water Dragon spell, A well known move used by the water specialists!" Says the narrator

"Weak. Ice spell second form: Ice Prison! Die with your shitty dragon." Jonathan says.

"Whaaaaaaat? The crowd goes insane! What was this move! He froze everything around him, including Tawn!" The narrator yells

"You are weak." Jonathan says, as something falls and breaks into the ground.

The doors open and Jonathan leaves the arena, and the first thing he sees is me, at the side of the door.

While he came back, i saw from far a lot of ice pieces behind him, with some looking like organs.

"What was that all about? Why did you kill him? You could have just left him alive, as a statue, he did nothing to you! He didn't deserve to die!" I yell at him

"Whats the matter? They never said that it had rules. If you are angry i can teach you a ice spell." In this moment i knew that i had no choice other than win.
