Chapter 9

I walked into the house, and not silently. There was no point in sneaking into the house when your parents are clearly waiting for you in the living room. I walked past the living room trying and failing to avoid my parents, "Annabeth," my dad growled as soon as I walked on the first step. 'Here we go,' I thought.

"Hi dad," I said emotionlessly, turning back and standing in the archway. I didn't have it in me to act happy.

"The library? Seriously?" he glowered with his arms crossed over his chest. The shirt exposed his chest enough for me to see his fast breathing.

"What else could I have said? 'Hey mom and dad, I'm staying after school to drink and do drugs, I will be home by 8 promise'?" I mimicked the action of me holding a phone and I said it with as much sarcasm as I could.

"The truth for a start," his brows started to pull together in anger forming his famous scowl.

"Would you have let me stayed?"

"No, I would have picked you up," he answered.
