Chapter 11

I was woken up by the sound of George's voice calling my name. He sounded distressed. It took me a few seconds to remember where I was. "I'm here," I yelled groggily. His footsteps came down the stairs in a fast rhythm and he practically ran into the living room, hitting his shoulder on the door frame. He let out and oof.

"What did that door frame do to you?" I teased.

George just gave me a look as if saying 'it's not funny'. "Are you okay?" I asked not trying to hide my amusement.

"Yeah, I just thought you took off," he paused and said quickly, "But I'm glad you didn't," "Where would I go?" I raised an eyebrow.

He took a moment to consider his answer. "Yeah, I guess I just panicked for a second," He let out a nervous laugh.

"Yeah, I guess so," I said in a small voice.

George made us some coffee while I got ready for school. I came out of the room as soon as George stopped there, nearly bumping into each other. He held the cup for me with a tight smile.
