Chapter 22

"I knew I shouldn't have let her go with you," my dad's voice echoed in my ears, making them ring a bit.

"Shh, you'll wake her," my mom whispered.

"I've been shouting all afternoon, she won't wake up," my dad snapped.

"I knew I shouldn’t have trusted him. I actually thought for a moment that he might be able to look after her, but he has clearly proven me and you wrong," my dad's voice bellowed again.

"You honestly can't blame him for something that wasn't his fault. It would have happened with or without him. We can be thankful that he was there to help her," my mom sounded really angry.

"No? He pushed her. If he protected her the first time, then none of this-"

"Don't dare to try and put this on him. He did nothing and you know it. You're trying to pin this on someone. Like you always do news flash Kain," my mom stretched out my dad's name, "Not everything is someone's fault.
