Chapter 30

I growled, and not a growl of frustration, but a real animalistic, hair-raising growl.

"Now don't be like that," He slowly walked toward us.

George stirred a bit.

I looked at him, hoping he would be awake.

"He's still alive. Barely," he said his voice low.

"What did you do to him?" I snarled. "I had to get your attention somehow. I knew tranquilizers wouldn't work on him, so I stabbed him. But that pesky vampire healing kept him awake and alive. So, I kept stabbing him. He eventually lost enough blood for his body to stop healing and he lost consciousness. That made him much easier to handle," he looked at George's face expression blank.

Rage filled me, there was a flash of a warning that I needed to calm down, but I ignored it. "I will kill you," I said through clenched teeth. "Is that supposed to be a threat?" he gave a chuckle that sent a chill down my spine.
