CHAPTER SIXTEEN

TINA POV

ilebaye went to the supermarket with her children including Tina. As they look around picking what they want a woman suddenly hugged Tina from behind. she got scared and ran from her.

"who are you? she asked looking at her weirdly.

"ha! is this not Funke ni !!!. she asked looking her all over.

"sorry, I don't know you! . she answered.

"it's I na, aunty Cecilia! so you're not dead. she said exclaiming.

Ilebaye realized what is going on and try to calm Cecilia down.

"take it easy madam. are you really sure you know her?

"yes! very sure, she is my niece. she answered her looking Tina again.

Ilebaye summoned her out the supermarket having a conversation with her.

"well, madam. it's a great privilege to finally get to meet someone that knows her. ilebaye said smiling at her.

"I don't understand? she said.

"I think it will be nice if you can come over to my house for insight and vivid explanation of what really happened to her.

Cecilia nodded her head in answering as she continues to wonder what could really happened to Tina.

" I will give you my home address and you can come anytime you're chanced. ilebaye said writing out her address on a sheet of paper

"why can't I follow you now? she asked.

"No, you can't come now. you can probably come tomorrow or any other day.

Cecilia thank her as she collected the address from her and assuring her that she will call her to know whenever she's coming

Ilebaye bid a well as she went back to continue her shopping.

"mom, what did she say? Nengi asked

"did she affirm that she truly knows me? Tina asked.

"don't worry girls, she will be coming to our house anytime, it might be tomorrow though. so when she comes we will know all that ok!

Ilebaye said to the girls as they jumped for joy.

"I'm so happy for you Nneka!!! at Last we saw someone that recognize you. definitely you must be living around this axis

Nengi said hugging her closely.

"thank you so much Nengi! I can't wait to see her .

"mom, this teddy is lovely! can I take it. Nengi asked holding it close to her chest as she beam towards her mother.

Ilebaye eyes her as she told her to return it since that's not part of what they came for. Nengi snubbed her and went ahead to pay with her own card..

"it's not like I don't have money ooo . she said holding Tina as they walked to the payment counter .

"suits yourself!!! it's your money not mine.

HOME

It's environmental day . they were cleaning and Dustin every corner of the house but all along tochi keeps murmuring about being tired.

Ilebaye scolded him to continue the sanitation or else he won't be giving the PS he has been desiring.

"oh! mom! I'm not getting tired any moment as you can see. he said scrubbing the floor continuously with speed as his mother went out.

"you're just too lazy Tochi. Nengi said laughing him.

"whatever! I'm not supposed to be doing all this, I'm a man for crying out loud! I just have no choice. Tochi said .

"well, Touch. we met a woman yesterday who calls me funke, claiming that she knows me. Nneka said as Tochi looked up in excitement.

"Really?

"yes, really! she said she will be coming tomorrow!!!!! Nengi answered joyfully.

"That's really good news. definitely you are a Yoruba girl by the virtue of your name 'Funke'

" I think so. Nneka answered.

"but you really don't look like a Yoruba girl. he said with a confusing face.

"it's true Nneka. you simply look more like an Indian girl. most especially with your hair.. Nengi said as she uses the mop stick on her hands to raise part of her hair.

Nneka laughed and said she really wish and hope she's truly from Indian.

KUNLE POV

He came inside the house in anger as he passed to and fro feeling uneasy. Mirabel came out asking him what happened but he wasn't answering her.

"if you can't talk then why did you come home behaving like this. she said.

" woman!!!! he shouted at her.

"why shouting? what is it?

He opened his bag as he brought out a nail documents, stretching it towards her.

"just imagine the kind of son you have been raising! if he doesn't steal today, he would fight tomorrow! I'm sick and tired of all this behavior of his. he said ranting at her.

Mirabel flares at him after checking the bail.

"ehn, is he not our son! or is it not your own priority to scold him or advise him on what he's doing. she said throwing the paper at him.

"you can imagine! just imagine! see how you throw the paper at me. like mother like son! he said walking inside angrily.

Mirabel went after him ranting behind him.

"why won't it be so. when a child does wrong that's when you will he takes after his mother.

so, tell me what happened to the father! is he not his father? no, just tell me!.

Michael walked in seeing his mother shouting at his father. immediately she sees him she went closer to him giving him a thunderous slap

"you're shameful son! is this how you will keep disgracing me? you still haven't stop this bad behavior of yours right from your late step father's time.

"it's this Same thing he kept complaining bout you before he died.

what exactly is your problem!?

what have I done for you. that makes you keeps tormenting me with your waywardness!.

Michael bow his head as he couldn't utter a word.

"that's how you will be looking, as if you don't know when you are doing your evil doings . do you think Five Hundred Thousand is a joke or ouch Amount right?!

Answer me!!!

"No Mom! he answered

TINA

They were all eager to see Cecilia as they heard the door bell. they ran to the door in excitement as they opened it and found out is a delivery man. their facial expressions was down as Tochi walked back clumsy.

"your pizza order is here!. said the delivery guy.

Nengi hissing as she called her mom.

"yes dear!!. ilebaye answered from within.

"did you order a pizza?!!. she shouted as she asked.

"yes, I did. Please bring it over. ilebaye said".

Nengi collected the pizza as she opens it .

"I just ran here for nothing, when I thought she is the one. tochi said looking frowning.

"Same here!. Nengi said as she took a bite from the pizza going upstairs.

the door bell rang again and only Nneka went over to open it.

"oh!!! sister Cecilia is here!!!. she shouted as Nengi turns back immediately running back downstairs.

"you're welcome ma, my mom is in, let me call for her. Nengi said as she runs upstairs again excitedly.

" you're welcome!. Nneka said beaming at her as she usher her to a sit.

"thank you my dear, she said.

ilebaye came down as she welcomes her as she walks down. she asked what she would like to eat or drink but Cecilia prefer to have water.

"tochi, go and get water!.

"okay Mom. he left to bring the water as ilebaye and Cecilia began to talk about their last coincidence meet.

"I know it's all for good Sha. Cecilia said.

"you're right, we can never predict a change of level or situation. she as they laughed.

ilebaye then asked her how she's related to Nneka.

"oh! yes. definitely.

she told them how her father is related to her and how she did traveled to India when she told her to get her some saree when coming. and she said Nneka told her she was coming on the 25 to be precise but she was surprised later when she heard she killed her father in which she got arrested.

"initially I wanted to come see her at the station but, I was not given chance to see her not until when I heard again that she has committed suicide after fleeing from the cell.

"what!!! she killed her father!. she asked looking at Nneka who looks flabbergasted.

"how come, how will I kill my father? how did it happen? . she broke down in tears as she began to roll on the floor.

ilebaye and Cecilia tried raising her up but it seems she is loosing it, she wasn't responding to their calling.

"Nneka!!. ilebaye called

"Funke!!!. Cecilia called.

they rushed her to the car driving to the hospital.

Hospital

The doctor came out and tell them it could be by grace if she could regain her memory. he urge them to be prayerful as that's the only solution to make her whole again.

"you know I told you the other time not to let her go through a heartbroken situation. but it seems it really affected her psychological imbalance in the brain.

"I'm sorry doctor, it's just a little matter that I wouldn't imagine it to result into this.

"it's okay Mrs Clement, just pray for her recovery now. he said as he walked away.

"oh! poor Nneka! I just hope she would just remember her past. ilebaye said.

Cecilia sat looking up the ceiling as tears flows down her cheek. ilebaye had to console her to be strong.

ilebaye slept at the hospital with her as the rest went home in other to bring food the next day.

the next day ilebaye was told to go sit outside as Nneka was screaming and shouting. the doctor attending to her and went outside. immediately ilebaye saw him she ran towards him asking how she is doing.

"yes, she's fine. and God is really wonderful. he said.

Cecelia and Nengi with tochi came in as they ran down towards them listening to what the doctor is Saying.

"I was literally scared on how she started screaming. ilebaye said.

"what's going on?. Cecilia asked.

"ehmm... please, who is Michael and emmm yes... Mirabel....hmm... including me kunle.

Cecilia jumps for joy.

"ha! thank Goodness!! that's is her stepmother and brother name but I don't know about the third.

"oh!! can you see. I think you need to go in and see her now because she kept calling those names.

they ran into the ward as they found Nneka crying with her eyes closed. she kept murmuring the names earlier. Cecelia called her in which she turns and opened her eyes.

"aunty Cecilia!!!. she said as her face lighted up in joy.

"oh! thank you Father!! so, you can recognize me now?. ha! funke, you sure really recognize me!!. she said as she began to dance as she sings.

"what am I doing here?. she asked.

"my dear, is a long story. but it seems you actually didn't remember me. ilebaye said happily.

Tina gripped as she smiled at her.

" I do remember you mom!. she said as ilebaye hug her .

"thank you so much darling! I'm glad you remember all now.

"my dear, can you still remember your Yoruba name. Cecilia asked.

"of course "Funke" or is that not what you like calling me. she said smiling.

"perfect! you definitely remember. Cecilia said.

"my dad mother christened me that. Even though I was later called Tuna. I remembered he told me. Tina said.

"wow, you have a lovely family. ilebaye said.

"thank you. although I'm the only one left in my family after my brother death, which is her father. Cecilia said.

"oh! that's sad. ilebaye said.

"that was why I was so devastated and heartbroken when I heard about the tragic incident about my brother death. I didn't believe them at first, but when I later heard you abscond it was then done on me that you truly killed your father.

"ha!. Tina shouted.

"I didn't kill my father! it was all lies! they killed him!. she said crying.

ilebaye calm her down as not to complicate your health.

"Then, what really happened?. Cecilia asked.

Tina calmed herself down as she was helped up to sit right up. she then disclose all that happened to them as she cries.

"oh! my God! what a wicked world. ilebaye exclaimed."

"I can't believe this! so that's why that so called man as been living with her. I never thought of it seriously. I thought she decided to have him as her partner because I heard the man as being there for her ever since my brother death.

"it's all lies aunty! they think they can get away with it. they have forgotten God's doesn't fight for the evil doers. Never!. I'm grateful for being alive.

" you see why I kept telling your father then, to teach you his mother tongue "Yoruba" but because of society caliber. he declined saying he doesn't want you to know it because he sees it as locality language. Cecilia said

"just imagine!. your father really made a great mistake. ilebaye said facing Tina.

"ehn, koburu! if is to learn Yoruba. then, I will send you to Yoruba school first before anything or what do you think?. she said facing ilebaye.

"you're right I'm in support of it. she said as they hold Tina hand.

"thank you so much! mom. Tina said with tears flowing down her cheek.
