Monsoon

"Here," Felix gave Amy a white fluffy blanket that was in the backseat of his car.

"What were you doing sitting outside the building in the middle of a monsoon" Felix gripped the steering wheel tightly. "Do you wanna get sick or what?." Felix scoffed.

Amy didn't say a word. What was she gonna say? That Jim's management saved their face by blasting her identity? Moreover, bringing Felix's name into the mix.

"I was so worried when I heard you over the phone, damn it," Felix whispered. Felix looked at Amy. His heart breaking into pieces.

"I'm sorry for bothering you," Amy finally spoke. "I didn't mean for you to see me in this state. I just had a panic attack; I..."

"You don't have to tell me something you are not comfortable saying," Felix said, his gaze on the road. "Are you gonna be okay to work? Do you want me to drop you off at your place? It may not seem like it to you, but Dr. Yoo and I are more than competent to take care of our patient."

"I know that. Why do you think I chose you and Dr. Yoo to be my partners? Because I know you're brilliant and more than capable," Amy let out a smile, "but I want to go to the hospital. Staying home would just drive me crazy."

Felix looked at Amy. His heart thumping. Felix wanted to hold Amy's hands and tell her that he was also capable of taking care of her. And that if given a chance, he will take care of her to great lengths.

"How did you know where I was anyway?" Amy asked.

"When Dr. Yoo told me she could not reach you, I remembered that you were supposed to attend a charity event. I searched 'charity events' near me, and the next thing I know," Felix paused and whispered, "I saw you."

Amy looked down at her trembling hands. "Thank you," Amy softly mumbled.

"Please, it's nothing," Felix replied. "We are here," he continued as he parked and turned off his car. Felix then moved his position, looking straight at Amy. "Can you please just take it easy tonight?" he begged.

Amy nodded and smiled.

Felix then took off his jacket and put it on Amy. "Your dress is wet. I don't want people seeing your .... umm" Felix blushed, unable to finish his sentence.

Amy looked to check her dress. 'WAAAHHH'

Her satin dress was soaking wet that it had molded on every inch of her body, especially cupping her bosom. Amy immediately grabbed the jacket to cover her body.

"Thank you for your consideration, though extremely late, but thank you," Amy said, throwing a dagger look at Felix.

"You're welcome," Felix replied as he stepped out of the car and opened Amy's door.

Inside the hospital, Felix went straight to the patient and asked the team to prepare an emergency operation. Amy quickly changed into her scrubs and proceeded to the Operating room.

"Well, if it 'aint the dynamic duo," Dr. Harper, the anesthesiologist, said as he saw Amy and Felix enter the sterile field. "I heard among the surgical rumor mill that you two are a dream to work with".

"Rumor has it that elephants are pink," Amy replied while a nurse tied her sterile gown.

Everyone in the OR laughed. "should we begin?" Amy continued her gloved hands in front of her.

A little while after the operation, Dr. Harper said something that most people in the room were scared to say. "So, Dr. Amy, Dr. Felix, I saw an article about you two today."

Amy stopped for a little, her hands holding surgical forceps and a scalpel. Felix looked at Amy. Even though covered with a cap and mask, he noticed Amy frowned.

"What of?" Felix answered, trying to keep Amy from talking. Felix thought that Dr. Harper was talking about what had transpired earlier.

"Do you really not know?" Dr. Harper said, "the photo of you two being all romantic while eating tteokboki."

Amy's ears twitched but continued on. "A what?" Felix asked, stopping what he was doing.

"Focus, Dr. Felix," Amy reprimanded.

"Hahahaha," Dr. Harper laughed, finding the conversation funny.

"Please, no need to deny it. The tteokboki couple everyone was talking about, it is you two, is it not? The photo looks exactly like this, except instead of wearing a regular mask, you two are wearing surgical masks." he continued.

Felix was curious; he had no idea what Dr. Harper was saying. "If you're so sure, why are you asking us, Dr. Harper?" Amy interjected.

"It's always better to hear it from the horse's mouth, you know." Dr. Harper teased.

"If I say no, would you even believe us?" Amy replied. "And if I say yes, would you take it against us?"

"Neither guilty nor innocent. Nice one, Dr. Amy" Dr. Harper laughed louder this time. "You are one smart cookie."

"The smartest," Amy chuckled as she looked at Felix and whispered 'later'. Felix nodded, oblivious to what the doctors were saying, but one thing was sure: his heart fluttered uncontrollably.

They continued on until they were able to successfully carry out the operation. In the surgical hallway, Felix caught up with Amy, standing at her side. "What was that all about?" Felix asked.

Amy halted and looked at Felix. "I'm kind of caught up in a scandal," she sighed, "and someone just brought your name in the mud next to mine. I'm sorry."

"Is that why you were crying?" Felix asked.

"Maybe," Amy replied, "Let's talk to the parents; I'll tell you more later."

After talking to the parents, sitting next to a bench in the lobby, Amy told Felix the truth. "You met my boyfriend, right? Well, someone took a photo of us without us knowing and posted it on the internet".

"And why is this a big deal, and why am I involved? Felix questioned.

"Well," Amy wavered, "my boyfriend is kind of popular," Amy blushed. "He is Jim of Axis21."

"WHAT?!!" Felix roared, garnering looks from people around them.

"Shhhh!" Amy hushed Felix. "Please don't tell anybody," She pleaded. "Anyway, what was supposed to be an innocent photo of us eating tteokboki sample from X store, turned out to be a shit-show of speculation. I don't know how, but they discovered it was me, and people speculated that Jim and I are in a relationship".

"Which you are," Felix said matter-of-factly. "But what I don't get is my involvement in all this?"

"Now, this is the part I should start begging for your forgiveness," Amy said, her face glum.

"When the speculation of Jim and I dating was getting out of hand, for some unknown reason, it suddenly and suspiciously quieted down. And, out of nowhere, your name was being brought up and was being suspected to be the person I was with on the infamous photo."

"Who put my name out there?" Felix inquired.

"I don't know, but it seems people working in the hospital saw us giggling and laughing at the cafeteria commented and labeled our interaction as being lovey-dovey". Amy answered.

Felix and Amy sat there for a while. Both trying to find the right words to say.

"I know your boyfriend is a big shot and all, but why can't he just say it was him and get this burden out of you?" Felix said, annoyed.

"Because," Amy spoke but couldn't finish her sentence. She knows exactly the answer to Felix's question; she did the same thing to Noah. Amy thought, unable to say it out loud:

'Because his career must come first,'
