Like A Duck

Amy woke up feeling the weight of Jim's arm and legs shrouded around her. Jim had hugged her like a cute little teddy; she gushed as she stared at Jim's pretty face sleeping like an angel.

Amy gently moved Jim's arm and leg as she tried to get out of bed as quietly as possible. Amy woke up a little later than she usually did. The sun was bright, and the sky was clear. Amy made some coffee and went to her balcony to enjoy the morning sunshine.

The Winter breeze mixed with the sun's heat lightened Amy's mood. 'It's crazy how Jim being next to me feels natural,' Amy whispered as she drank her first cup of coffee and headed in for her second.

Amy turned the music on and put her playlist on shuffle as she made pimento cheese bagels, eggs, and bacon for Jim. "I wonder what he likes to eat for breakfast?" Amy asked herself.

"Anything you make," Jim replied, watching Amy across from the kitchen island.

"SHIT" Amy cursed, almost dropping the plate she was holding.

"Good morning, babe," he said, traces of smile evident on his face. "I didn't wanna stop you from dancing"

Amy looked at Jim with a side-eye. "Anyway, I made you some bagels and eggs. I didn't know what you like," she said. "Do you want some coffee? Just so you know, I make the best coffee; my friends who don't drink coffee usually ask me to brew them some when they're at my house." Amy said proudly.

"I'd be delighted," Jim said as he took a bite from the bagel. "Mmm, this is good," he added.

"Do you have somewhere to go today?" Amy asked Jim as she frothed Italian sweet cream t for Jim's coffee.

"No, I made sure my schedule was free. Do you want to do something? Do you wanna go somewhere?" Jim asked, still munching on his breakfast.

Amy hesitated. They're doing so well as of late that the thought of being photographed again terrified her. "Nothing in particular. I was told to stay home and recuperate my energy. Do you mind if we just stay in?" Amy asked.

"I don't. Let's do whatever you want." Jim suggested.

"Ha! I'm a very dull person." Amy said, "you might want to reconsider 'doing whatever I want' option," Amy replied as she gave Jim her infamous coffee.

"Mmm, this coffee is fantastic," Jim said as he savored the cups of coffee Amy brewed for him.

"I know," Amy said proudly.

"If you have somewhere to go or something to do, please, do not let me hold you back."

"You're not holding me back, Amy." Jim looked at Amy. "Staying in and doing absolutely nothing is my favorite thing to do." Jim got up and went to the bedroom. When he walked out, he was carrying a black bag.

"What's that?" Amy asked out of curiosity.

"You'll see" Jim smirked as he opened the mysterious bag next to Amy's flat screen tv. "Amy, meet my loyal companions," Jim said as he took out various gaming consoles.

Amy let out a giggle. Jim looked like a little boy opening presents on Christmas Day. One by one, he connected his consoles and had them working.

"All done!" Jim exclaimed. "Do you play?".

"Better than you." She answered with a smirk.

"Is that a challenge, I hear?" Jim smiled arrogantly.

"No, just stating the fact," Amy replied.

"Well, if you're that confident, why won't we make a bet? The loser should do whatever the winner requests," Jim suggested.

Amy chortled. She was only teasing Jim; although she plays from to time, she was no expert. But Amy is one to take competitions to heart, and she had no intention of losing.

"Scared?" Jim mocked.

"Not one bit." Amy lied and laughed.

The two played like two cheaters. Jim would distract Amy from time to time, while Amy would cover the tv so Jim would crash. Two of them laughed and batted heads like little kids not wanting the other to win.. But as expected, Jim won despite Amy's poor attempts to cheat.

"Hmmmmm," Jim scratched his chin with his fingers, "ready to grant my wish?" Amy shook her head in displeasure. "spare me," Amy pleaded.

"I was about to ask you to give me a foot massage, but I changed my mind," Jin said mischievously. Amy's starting to regret her decision. "I want Amy to sing and dance, the best song to ever exist..." Jim leaned and whispered the name of the song to Amy.

Amy's face turned red. Clearly embarrassed, Amy began to cough pretentiously. "I suddenly feel light-headed; I don't think I have recovered fully yet." Amy fibbed as she stood up, trying to escape an embarrassing future.

Jim laughed. He was enjoying every second of Amy's misery.

"I need to rest," Amy said softly as she slowly walked backward, her demeanor still of that sick person.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Just when Jim was about to get a hold of her, Amy ran as fast as she could to flee. She hurried and ran towards the bedroom, hoping to be able to hide in her closet. Amy was laughing as Jim called for her name, her little steps unmatched by Jim's long legs.

"Gotcha," Jim wrapped Amy from behind and carried her fireman style. He lifted Amy onto his shoulder while holding her thigh and arm. "Put me down," Amy squeaked as she tickled Jim's waist.

"Amy, that tickles," Jim said, pretending to lose balance. "Put me down," Amy said while laughing uncontrollably. "Oh, you think I'm being funny?" Jim teased. "I need that performance of a lifetime," he smiled as he tickled Amy's foot, "I know where your tickle spots are, silly girl," he continued.

Amy, in response, laughed and smacked Jim's bottom. "Let me down," she said, trying to catch some air. "I'll do it, I swear." Amy surrendered.

"Did you just smack my ass?" Jim asked.

"Yes, you deserve it" Amy answered, smacking Jim's bottom again.

"That's one very dangerous move Dr. Amy" Jim held Amy by the wait and put her down the bed. Planning her escape, Amy tried to pull Jim to the side so she could make Houdini act, but due to Jim's large and heavy body on top of her, Amy pulled Jim closer to her instead; putting them in a very intimate position.

"You never fail to surprise me," Jim said, his muscular build on top of Amy. "If this was what you wanted, you could have saved us all the hassle and gone straight to the point." Jim teased, his muscular arms caging Amy.

Embarrassed, Amy tried to push Jim away but failed. "I wasn't trying to," she mumbled, her face red. She looked to her side to avoid Jim's intense gaze.

"If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck," Jim said, trying to make a point.

Amy laughed loudly at Jim's metaphoric statement that she couldn't help but snore.

"I said duck, not pig," Jim said, tickling the petite woman under him.

After a while, Jim's face turned serene. "I love hearing your laughter," he said, brushed his soft lips on Amy's lips. "I love how you snore when you laugh," he pecked again. "I love everything about you," Jim continued as he gaped at Amy's brown eyes.

"I love you," Jim professed.

Amy felt like thousands of butterflies were dancing on her belly. It was quiet, but her heart thumped loudly. She was convinced Jim could hear her ecstatic heartbeat beating uncontrollably because of him. 'He loves me,' Amy thought as she wrapped Jim's neck with her arms and very slightly touch her lips on to his neck's soft spot.

Jim groaned as he felt Amy's smooth lips touch his skin. He is burning for her.

Amy opened her mouth to say something when they suddenly heard her apartment door open.

"Amelia," a cold voice echoed across the wall.

"Amelia, are you in your room?" the voice said.

"Shit. Shit. Shit." Amelia cursed.

"Fix your shirt, and meet me outside," she said to Jim as she hurried out to her room, "that's my mother."
