Flowers For You

Mina taught Amy how to maneuver the computer and then patiently showed her how to make basic coffee orders.

Amy listened as if her life depended on it. Truth be told, Amy would rather work part-time in this cafe than miserably stay in her home, waiting for no one. Amy did not mind being alone, but sometimes, especially during this momentous day, she wished to have spent it with someone who worshiped her.

That's the thing about being strong; people assume you are always strong—all the damn time.

Right on cue, customers started pouring in. High school kids who just got out of school. Office workers who were either staying late or going home. Couples on a date. Friends reuniting.

Mina and Amy worked in sync. Barely having enough time to rest.

'Mina would not have survived this shift alone,' Amy thought.

When the crowd started to die down, Mina looked at Amy warmly.

"Thank you so much for your help Amy," Mina said as she held Amy's hands.
