In the past, getting a chill would have inevitably sparked a fever for MeiLan. Anak was so worried that she was already prepared with extra blankets and medicinal tea the next morning. However, MeiLan sat up on the bed and put her palms against her own cheeks, surprised to find her skin cool and dry. "I'm fine Anak, I'm not sick," she said cheerfully.
Anak frowned at her. "How can that be? And you were so wet and cold yesterday." She dropped her armload of extra blankets and pressed the back of her hand against MeilLan's forehead. "Maybe it is just delayed. You should stay in bed, just in case, and not strain yourself today."
