The Encounter

Lesley and Julia entered the mall chatting all the way. They were still having this cute little argument on who was the prettiest.

Girls complimenting girls... Yassss!!!!!!!.

That's all we could ask for.

"Ok I have an idea Lesley".

"I love ideas. What is it"?.

"Before going to collect my mom's jewelries, why don't we tour the mall first and see if we could see some nice cheap things to get for ourselves"?

"Hmmm, I doubt we might see anything to get for ourselves considering how expensive this mall looks, but there's no harm in trying".

"So it's a good idea right"?

"Uuhhn uuuuhnn".

"Ok then, LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!".

Julia and Lesley decided to tour the mall first. They started with checking out some cute, girly, classy outfits and every outfits they picked, they dropped. They were all outrageously expensive.

"Oh my God, everything single outfits here is expensive".

"I know right".

"I'm kinda feeling like I shouldn't have brought this idea up. We haven't even been able to see anything nice to get for ourselves".

"Don't worry we'll see. Maybe we're just checking the wrong section. Why don't we go check the stuffed animals and teen bracelet sections. We might see something for ourselves".

"Ok let's check".

Going to the stuffed animals section, they saw lots of choices to pick but once again, 'THE MONEYYYYYYY'.

While still checking out some stuffed animals, Lesley noticed some weird movements from the corner of her eyes.

She turned to look and saw a guy, a drop dead gorgeous one, to be more specific, picked an item and immediately stuffed into his pockets. He turned to her, gave a little smile and then winked at her before going to join some group of boys which Lesley considered to be his friends.

Taken aback from what just happened, Lesley murmured "Ok, what just happened"?.

"What's wrong Lesley"?

"A minute ago, I just like saw a guy shoplifting and he wasn't even bothered that I saw him. He just gave a little smile and then winked".

"For real? He's giving bad boy vibes".

"Oh well, let's forget about him. He's not gonna ruin my day".

"Oh, before I forget, I found a cute bracelet we could purchase for ourselves" Julia said showing Lesley the two bracelet she found.

It was a silver bracelet which had a pendant in the middle made in the form of a heart(love).

"Oh my gosh, it's so cute and it's cheap".

"I know right. I found two of the same kind and I was thinking that we should both like buy each to seal our friendship".

"Totally. I love it. It's so pretty".

So they both bought the bracelet, and then wore it to seal their friendship.

"I'm never taking this off" Lesley said.

"Same. Ok, I think it's time for me to get my mom's jewelries".

"Yeah. We've spent quite a lot of time here".

They eventually went to meet one of the staff(salesgirl), and Julia did the talking.

"How may I help you customer"?

"I'm here to pick up the jewelries my mom ordered from this mall".

"And under what name is the order placed"?

"Mrs George".

The staff took a tablet, scrolled through it and nodded her head.

"Mrs George... Ok got it, it's here. Please follow me miss".

"Ok. Lesley wait for me ok"?

"Don't worry, I'm going nowhere".

Lesley was left standing alone with the other staff( salesgirl). Feeling a bit awkward, she started to admire the jewelries in front of her. One necklace actually caught her eyes. She went over to it, touched it and muttered "This is so beautiful".

She knew this wasn't something she could afford but she still decided to check the price tag, and she wasn't wrong, she couldn't afford it.

Even if she decides to save up for five years straight, she still wouldn't be able to purchase it.

The staff looked at her, thinking she wanted to buy it and said "Miss would you love to purchase it?. It's actually an exquisite necklace. But if it doesn't please you, I could show you more variety of necklaces that could suit your taste".

Lesley raised and waved her hands in a frantic way.

"Oh no no no, I'm sorry. I don't plan on buying it. I was just admiring it".

"Ok miss".

Taking two steps further from the necklace, she gave a deep breath.

Looking at the direction of the necklace, this time a boy was standing right in front of it.

'Oh my God, he's drop dead gorgeous' Lesley thought.

But something was off about this guy. He also kinda looked familiar.

The mysterious boy looked left and right and noticing that the staff back was turned towards the necklace and no one was looking, He grabbed it and put it right into his pocket.

Lesley gasped at his actions, and looking closely at him, she realized that it was the same guy she saw shoplifting earlier.

"I guess he's shoplifting again".

Noticing that the staff was about to turn around, he took two steps further from her and started pretending he was admiring other necklaces.

Lesley scoffed "Oh I see, he's a pro".

At that moment the staff turned back and noticed the necklace wasn't there, she let out a confused face.

Her face vividly showed that she was extremely confused and probably scared considering how expensive the necklace was.

She started searching everywhere frantically and at one moment she paused and looked at Lesley giving her a stern look.

Lesley was taken aback.

"Oh my God, I hope she doesn't think I was the one that stole it". Lesley murmured.

"Hey you".

Lesley looked back and pointed at herself "Me"?

"Yes you".

"You took the necklace right".

"No I didn't ma'am".

"Don't lie to me. You were literally admiring it some minutes ago even though you knew you couldn't afford it".

"I know I was admiring it but that was because it was pretty. I wouldn't dare to steal it".

At this moment, a little crowd had started gathering.

"It doesn't change anything" the staff replied.

Noticing that the boy was about to take his leave she blurted out pointing at him,

"What about him? I literally saw him admiring the necklace some minutes ago. I shouldn't be the only suspect".

"Ok miss don't drag me into your mess".

"Ain't dragging anyone into this mess. Just stating the facts".

Lesley gave him a stern look that boldly said "I know you were the one that did it. I saw you".

At this point he knew his cover was blown. He didn't even realized that she saw him.

"You two better stay put while I call the security. You're our major suspect".

"Oh shit, I'm in deep trouble" He muttered.

"Yes you are" Lesley muttered back.

She went up close to him and said,

"I literally saw everything that happened. You stole that necklace".

"And where's your proof".

"My proof? It's in your pockets".

"So what? You're gonna rat me out"?.

"Rat you out? Why should I? It's probably gonna be found in your pockets when we're searched. And don't even think of trying to bring out the necklace and hide somewhere else because then I'm gonna rat you out".

"You should mind your business".

"I was until your useless theft put me in this mess. Why should I take the fall for something I didn't do"?.

At that moment Lesley looked up at him and damn, she realized he was actually much more gorgeous upfront. He was looking down at her which made their faces literally few inches apart. She immediately looked away .

He looked like her age mate. She wondered why he was doing such things. He doesn't look raggedy at all, and was actually on designer outfits.

She looked to her right and she could see his friends he was with earlier hiding away.

'Aren't they gonna do something to at least help him' she thought.

'So much for being a friend'.

Securities eventually came. One was a man and the other was a woman.

"These are the suspects. I would like you to search them completely, both their belongings and their clothes".

The female security was in charge of searching Lesley while the male security searched the boy.

Their backpacks were searched first. Every content was poured out onto the floor.

The crowds were all keenly watching, wanting to see who the thief would be among them.

"You wouldn't see anything there sir".

"Why don't you keep quiet boy and let me do my job, Or do you have something you wanna hide"?.

"No sir".

"Good".

Lesley could see the boy was starting to get restless.

After searching their backpacks and seeing nothing, they started searching their clothe and bodies.

They made sure not to touch any of them inappropriately.

Lesley stood still, letting the woman do her job but the boy was fidgeting quite a lot.

She gave him a look that says "You better stay put or you gonna look more suspicious".

Heeding to her advice he stayed put.

The man started with touching his arm, going down to his chest, his tummy and when he was about to reach for his pockets, Lesley looked at the boy and noticed he was really scared of being caught.

At that moment she knew she had to help him.......
