Chapter 34:Mission #2

First thing in the morning we went to the Ordnance Factory to get brand new Rifles and guns for the mission. There were way too many to choose from and I was confused as hell. I didn't really know much about these guns but of course, Jorge and Ivy were with me.

Two hours later, we were flying across the horizon to the unknown beyond. That's a gaming term Ivy introduced. Speaking of her, I noticed some change in her. She's been...nice to me. She seems more friendly and approachable now. A whole new aspect of personality I never imagine could exist in someone like her.

The helicopter landed infront of several abandoned warehouses. Vines had started to slither their way across these gigantic builings, and, possibly trees had started to grow. Nature surely wanted to remove every trace of humans here.

The weather was cloudy today. It seemed like it would rain very soon. The usual atmosphere of forest was every bit alive. That gave me flashbacks of my first ever mission.

Apart from us three, ten people were on my team. Eight for regular players. Mr.Masked's "representatives" hadn't arrived. We waited five more minutes.

The buzzing of helicopter was heard from above which made us look up. A boy jumped out this time. This one, was definitely something.

He had black eyes that held malice, like something was continously buzzing inside them. His hair was black and messy. He was wearing a shiny jacket and matching pants.

When he saw me, he grinned mischievously and spoke:

"Let's keep it short. Name's Arson. Love to kill. You know why I'm here."

And just like that, the introduction ended. I caught myself right on time before I could gape at him and stand there stupid. Instead, I nodded more confidently than I felt. It was obvious we didn't need to introduce ourselves to him. I wanted to scare him. I had the urge to say something to match. But I was shy. I was dumb. And it hurt. So, I turned to my friends for support. Jorge was staring at him, stone faced, eyes set on his. I had the powerful urge to tell Ivy that I would love her to show him her own attitude. As if she'd read my mind, she stepped to stand beside me and said:

"We'll keep it short too. I love fair games. But your side cheated first. And that makes cheating legit. And for the note, I love to kill too."

Arson didn't appear surprised. He simply laughed like a maniac and said

"Shame we're not on the same side. You have the spirit." He said.

After that, we did not have further time to chat. The now-familiar voice of the woman echoed everywhere.

"PLAYERS TAKE POSITION. THIS IS A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE CONDITION. WITHIN ONE HOUR, THE PERSON WITH MOST ZOMBIE KILLS AND, WHO MANAGES TO SURVIVE THE FINAL BLOW WINS.
