The Meet

I Make my way to the bonds office of Jessica, Its not necessarily in the nicest part of town, but these types of businesses hardly ever are. They tend to be as close as possible to the Jails, where they get all their clientele. Allied Bail is in a standalone building which actually looks fairly nice all things considered. I walk in and there's a Middle-aged woman sitting at one of the desks on the phone. she looks up at me from the computer as she's typing up something and gestures for me to have a seat and to give her a moment.

I sit down and wait, It takes her a couple of minutes to finish her conversation and then she turns her attention to me "Hello, how can I help you?"

"Are you Jessica? we spoke on the phone about forty minutes ago, you wanted me to do some work for you." I say in as professional a tone as I can. Now, you might not think that someone walking into such a place for business purposes would be fitting the bill of a professional look, wearing workout clothes, But in this line of work, Its not something all that out of the ordinary. Bondsmen will see their recovery people wearing just about anything, after all, if it gets the job done, and safely. It really doesn't matter what one wears, and often someone might be wearing disguises to throw people off, or to get into places that would otherwise not be as easily accessible.

"Ah yes, then your Alex?" she asks and I nod, then she opens up one of the file cabinets behind her and pulls out four files. "I have four possible jobs for you. first one," She talks as she walks over to the door and locks it and sits back down and sets a file in front of me "Is this, Josh Goodman, he missed several court dates, Second Jannet Reed, Third Malcom Watson, and lastly Theodore Harris. All of them have missed at least one court date and are not returning our calls. So we need you to go get them."

I nod "Sounds pretty basic, What are the bonds set at?"

She taps each of the folders "Josh, was set at forty, Jannet at fifteen, Malcom is at fifty and Theodore at ninety" she indicates

"Ok, I can do some preliminary work on them." I reach over and take the four files "Standard rate applies, Also, if they get picked up, you'll have to inform me, otherwise I will bill you for my services regardless If I found out that they were picked up and you knew but never told me." I take out my phone and search through the files, "I'll send you my contract, if you don't mind signing that and sending me back a copy?"

she nods and gives me a mailing address and I forward her my contract. It helps keeping these things, even if you never think your going to use them ever again. After all, it came in handy today. She prints off two copies of the contract and looks it over quickly before signing it and handing me one

"I'll get to work on these after I get home" I say as I get up and head to the door. I don't bother asking anything more, simply because any other information that they can give me is likely to be out of date. So the hard part is going to be tracking them down. Once that is done, then its just a matter of figuring out how to nab them and bring them in.

After getting home I head to my computer and boot it up, I'll end up doing some basic things today, then its going to go on pause for a couple of days while I'm out of town. So I pull up the popular social media website and log in, and on another tab I go to a site that specializes in background searches. However they are a bit costly, but necessary, I have to get as much information of these four individuals as possible to track them down after all.

I go ahead and pay the fee for the four background searches, and get all their information back shortly, and they are not small documents, All of them end up being files with over 100 pages of information. Granted most of it is absolutely useless to me, but I'll still have to sift through at least 100 pages total of all four people combined.

Their social media profiles, that takes me more time to trace them down. After all, I have pretty crap photo's of the individuals, So I search for their booking information and mugshots, and then try to use those to image search. I only manage to find Jannet this way, the others will take a bit more effort I think. But I'm almost certain that they aren't smart enough to not have a social media account. When I did this kind of work more regularly, It was the greatest boon ever. People would post everything about their lives online.

And Jannet is no different, I find that she posts quite frequently. And much of it is quite recent. In fact, lo and behold, she posted something not more than thirty minutes ago about her being at a particular restaurant. I chuckle to myself, This will be an easy chunk of change. I quickly change clothes and grab my gear, and print off the warrant then hop into my vehicle and head to the restaurant that she is hopefully still at.

I get there in about fifteen minutes, and walk in scanning the room. At one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant is my target. I made a mistake when i first started this type of work, and I don't intend to repeat it, So what I end up doing is making my way right to the table, and without any introductions, statements or anything, I take out my handcuffs on the way to the table and the moment I get to her, I immediately grab her wrist and slap the restraints on as I pull her out of the chair and push her to the ground wrenching her arm behind her, and grabbing the other arm and getting it into the other restraint. At this point I speak up "Jannet, you've been arrested for failure to appear to your court date."

She tries to speak out and I cut her off "I don't care, take it up with your lawyer after I drop you off at the jail." I pick her up and do a quick pat down asking if she has any weapons on her, and I find none then march her out of the restaurant and to my vehicle, The people she was with are in shock but now trying to shout at me. So I pull out some pepper spray and point it at them as I am walking out. "If you continue to follow me, I will use this" I warn them, and one doesn't take the warning seriously so he got a face full of liquid fire. as he hits the ground screaming rubbing his eyes the others help him out and I'm out the door shoving Jannet into the vehicle, all the while she is very Irate with me shouting profanities.

After getting her into the vehicle, I tie up her feet as a precaution to prevent her from kicking, and I head off to the jail to book her in and wipe my hands of this. I'm quite pleased with how this quick operation was. No major issues and a quick recovery. Once she's dropped off and booked in I make my way to the bonds office to talk to Jessica again.

On arrival to the bonds office I step in and notice a different person at the desk "Is Jessica in?" I ask

"She stepped out for a bit, but she should be back in a few minutes, Is there anything I can do to help you?" They ask

"Ah ok, I just wanted to inform her that I just dropped off one of your clients at the Jail." I take out the file and hand it to them and show them the photo I took on my phone with them at the jail in restraints

"Oh good," they state and flip through the folder, "Give me a moment and I'll go get your payment"

I nod "Standard rate, just in case you didn't know" they nod at my statement and step into the back room and come out a couple minutes later handing me an envelope with my payment. "Thanks, I'll be working on the other three but I cant say that they will be as fast as this one." I state and head out the door.
