A few days after the test the news finally made it to the mainstream, What came to be a world shaking invention and scientific discovery that was introduced to no fan fare but a quiet exchange. Word of mouth got around from various sources, and Alex's papers on the device, and the results from the station tests got published into several scientific journals.
It was around this time that several tech companies and communications companies, as well as various others contacted Alex's school to get ahold of her to purchase the rights to the devices. She rebuffed them all and instead approached several banks to take out some very hefty loans, and found an seeing as there was no suitable location in the city, she bought quite a bit of land on the outskirts of the city, and set up meetings with prominent builders.
The whole process took quite some time, she informed her professors and the dean with her intentions to drop out of the college to focus on this project. Seeing as she completed the goal that she had achieved in getting the starting knowledge necessary to start reverse engineering the ship and its systems. The Professors were disappointed, but they all also had agreed that with what Alex had achieved, even without completing the school, she would be considered one of the greatest scientific minds. The communications device was dubbed to function off of the Voss principals of quantum theory.
Several weeks after the publication of her scientific papers, the scientific world was going through a mass fervor of the new concepts that were not only just theorized about, but also proven to work all in one fell swoop. The scientific principals behind the device were made known to the world and the scientific community at large all agreed that this invention not only improved upon telecommunications, but would revolutionize many things outside of it.
Communications was only the first step. It was still questioned if the device itself would function with little to no time lag between communications, but that simply because there was no way to effectively test that, until some distance was created where a time lag would be more noticeable.
There was a noticeable reduction in lag of communications with the station and mission command, and they even brought news stations on to talk with the station. both so that it would satiate the publics desire for information, as well as to test the communications device further. The results were still fantastic, though no one was willing to yet admit that there as no time lag because of the speed of the communications device transmitting FTL.
They erred on it more likely being the rates at which information was able to be transferred between devices. As most radio transmissions would have to go through multiple rounds of compression, transmission, decompression and so forth for the audio to be heard at a longer distance. But the audio and file transfer rate of the Voss devices was so much more efficient that it seemed like there was no time lag.
Mix this with the distance of the station, and there would be no noticeable lag even for lightspeed, communications. It was all the back end workings that slowed things down. The real test of this would be when the device was added to space probes and rovers.
Now that it was proven to work, the Voss device was deemed to be what would be the main communications device for such things. With the next probe scheduled to launch in the future having a major redesign to accommodate this. As it both reduced the weight, and would increase the bandwidth capacity of the transmissions to allow for much more refined tools.
Even the power supply was being reworked to be the Voss power supply. It necessarily caused a delay in the launch date of the various probes, but just about everyone felt that such a delay was absolutely warranted.
So it was with all of this going on that Alex dropped out of the college, filled out paperwork for the creation of a new company named 'Lunaris Systems'. Alex figured why not go with this name as a slightly personal joke to her. And if anyone ever figured out the things Alex was capable of doing, using that name would be a good cover story. Especially with the future rapid technological advancements humanity is about to undergo.
Two months after the initial station tests Alex was slammed. It was weeks and weeks of talks, planning, and meetings. Meetings with architects and other designers for the factory and office complex that was going to be built for Lunaris Systems.
Along with the millions in loans that several banks practically threw at Alex when they were approached with the proposal. The government also approached and offered a quite hefty grant of several billion, And Lunaris Systems became a defense contractor practically overnight. This required rapid hiring of staff to handle things, But Alex didn't have a place to work yet so all of that had to be put on hold. So she hired some core staff, such as a secretary and an accountant.
The office complex and factory were worked on by several engineering firms, and designs on the factory were pushed to the front, ground was broken for the factory fairly quickly. The ink on the blueprints barely having a chance to dry with how fast the work started.
Once ground was broken on the building, Alex hired several construction companies to get the work done as quickly as possible. So the building was constructed in record time. Effectively every company had a hand in the laying of the foundation and the structure itself, but as certain sections of the building were completed the companies would have one then focus on other necessary parts of the construction, to bring it to operation as quickly as possible.
Staff was starting to be hired and Alex took a personal hand in this, during this phase. As she wanted to control for any information leaks that she herself did not do. And the Analyze skill would be the perfect screening tool during the interview process'. This slowed her down a bit, but she believed it to be a necessary sacrifice.
The factory started getting stocked with the tools needed to create some rudimentary versions of the comm device, identical to the one that was sent to the space station, but not as sleek in appearance to the ones she acquired from the ship. But appearance would be something adjusted in the future, functionality was what mattered at this point.
Two months after the factory was partially online, and four months after the initial tests, Lunaris Systems had created its first couple of communications devices and had them shipped out. Around this time is when Alex finally had some downtime, things were starting to come together and with the slowly expanding staff, the processes were slowly switching to Alex taking the more administrative role for everything. The factory floor was almost completely finished, with work starting on cleanrooms.
With the break Alex returned to the house, and planned to head to the ship for the first time in awhile. Once she got home she shifted back to the male form, This was the first time in four months than Alex had managed to shift back. The first full month came with a bit of a surprise that Alex wasn't completely expecting.
But, It left him with no question at all that when he shifted to female, it wasn't just in physical appearance, but a complete shift. He hadn't managed to get genetic tests done, but all the medical tests that he went through after that month pretty much left it with a genetic test being unnecessary as it would only tell him what all the other medical tests had already confirmed.
With the business being able to handle him being gone for a couple of days, Along with some more researching of the ship and reverse engineering its technology, There were other things that Alex had a desire to try out now to see if it were possible. One was figuring out what exactly heartsblood was. There was also the matter of the system as well, He hadn't had a chance to do any of the dailies in the last four months, actually it was a bit longer, since He started at the college he hadn't been doing the dailies. He also hadn't been keeping up with the skills at all in the last four months. 'Status'

Overall, there had been an increase of the levels of knowledge skills, and at some point over the last four months the computer science skill went from basic to advanced. Unfortunately he was so lost in everything going on that he did not notice when it did level up, or he did but didn't really pay attention to it at the time. It took him some time thinking back to when the notification came, and It was about two weeks ago, it went from level 10 basic knowledge to becoming intermediate knowledge then gaining a level in that.
