Chapter 13- Judgment

"Yes. There is a value "a man shouted.

"Indeed. This is connected with reputation of our village" another man said angrily.

"How could my daughter's birth identity connected with the reputation of the village?" Migara asked in an angry voice.

"Why not. All villagers living here have a good reputation. With a girl who not has a clear identity, how could we live with pride?" a man asked from Migara grumpy.

"Indeed. How could we live honor with this kind of girl live with us?" another one asked in an angry tone and others also agreed while nodding their heads and making angry shouts.

"Who knows what kind of mother your girl is? If that girl lives with us that will remind us of your shameful illicit affair. How could we keep our heads high?" a woman said in a sarcastic tone.

"It is true…it is true," villagers said in union.

"What are you all telling me now to do?" Migara asked in tired expression.

"You must tell identity of mother of your daughter or take a decision about your daughter" village chief said in stern voice.

"Oh. Tell me what action should this almsgiver should do?" a voice sounded from the side and all looked the direction of source of voice. An elder monk came with a man sheltered with sesame leaf.

"Grand thero! Why are you here? Get a seat quickly" the Village chief said with a shocked expression.

"No need. I want to know what action this person wants to take about her daughter as you say" grand thero said in an angry voice.

"Grand thero …it is not …it is not serious" village chief stammered.

"Then what about? Are you saying you are going to expel his family from the village if he has not followed your instructions?" grand thero asked.

"Grand thero…it is not like that. We only said we make some prohibitions on their family. We are not going to expel him" the village chief said regret manner.

"Making some prohibitions! Ha… is it not cornering him? What is the difference between those situations? I have previously said we should not make difficulties for master Migara family. But no one headed my advice. So no one from the village not went as a nanny to their house. But I did not do anything about it because I thought you all stop nagging about this matter after that. But this time you go far beyond that. I told you all that a person's identity does not decide by his birth but by his character. So you must not keep questioning this. However, the identity that girl had why do you care? But you all keep pressing master by saying reputation. Then what happened to your learnings about Lord Buddha's philosophy? He said compassion to all living beings. Is this the way you show it to others? Reputation is connecting with the character of people. I want to ask you now do you all have a reputation for the way you act like this" grand thero asked in a stiff voice and all villagers were regretfully heard this blame while keeping their heads down.

"Grand thero...I am sorry about that "the village chief said guiltily and others were nodded as they in agreement.

"You should not ask to forgive me. You should ask from master "Grand thero said.

"Yes..yes…master Migara … We are sorry about previously. Please forgive us" villagers said in one voice.

"It is okay," Migara said in solemnly and all villagers started to disperse.

"Hey wait here all... Apprehend this traitor for me "a voice said in hurry.
