Chapter - 34 - Psychopathic vibe

Zane patted on Alice's back and comforted her until she stopped crying. Alice slowly left his embrace and wiped her face with the tissue passed on by Victor. No one asked her the reason for her sudden outburst but waited patiently for her to calm down and explain. Alice sniffled a few times and looked at Dr.Zane. "Thank you, Dr.Zane. I love cheesecake and it's my favorite." The group exchanged glances with each other looking confused.

Meanwhile, Dr.G finished going through her project file and decided to go back to her apartment to take a good rest. She thought about stopping by the ICU to take a look at the patients who she performed surgery on before leaving for the apartment. As Gianna neared the station, she could clearly hear Alice crying and quickened her steps towards the station. She reached the end of the corridor to see Alice crying in Zane's arms and wondered what happened. Gianna decided to stand behind the wall and watch what was going on.

"Then why did you cry like a baby just now?" asked Zane in confusion. "Ahhh!! I am really bad at hiding my emotions and it's so embarrassing." said Alice lowering her head. Ralph chuckled at her reply and said, "Why would you feel embarrassed in front of your family? Tell us, what is bothering you." Alice pondered over Ralph's question and smiled faintly. Alice never thought she would be so lucky in this lifetime to meet people who really cared for her.

"Actually, I really love cheesecake but no one has bought me one, not even my family. My elder brother is lactose intolerant and my elder sister doesn't like cheesecake, so my parents never buy cheesecake even though I like it." Alice smiled at Zane and asked, "Why did you buy cheesecake out of all desserts?" Zane was so furious thinking about how Alice was treated by her parents. He looked at her with uneasiness in his heart thinking about the sufferings she had to go through all along.

"Last week I saw you eating a cheesecake with a big smile on your face. The smile showed how much you liked it, so I bought it when I went to have my coffee in the evening." Zane ruffled Alice's hair and said, "I will buy you all the cheesecake in this world, so don't cry from now on." Alice bobbed her head and started to click pictures of the cheesecake as a reminder of happy moments in her life.

The group couldn't help but feel bad and happy for her at the same time. Stanley went near Alice to have a bite of the cheesecake but she slapped his hand away. "My big brother bought these for me. Don't even think of having a bite of it." Zane and the group laughed at Alice's remark. Just then, Dr.Jason stepped out of the elevator and was welcomed by the loud laughter from the staff station.

Jason wondered what was so funny that everyone was laughing heartily. Jason neared the staff station and saw Zane standing there laughing with the others. Just by the sight of Dr.Zane, Jason was irritated. He wanted to confront them but stopped in his tracks when he heard one of the nurses asking Dr.Zane a question. Gianna noticed Dr.Jason walking towards the staff station but stopped midway and moved behind the wall looking so irritated. Gianna thought Dr.Jason was also monitoring them like her but didn't understand why he was irritated.

"Dr.Zane, are you really dating Dr.G?" The group stopped laughing as they heard the nurse's question. "Why am I not better looking than Dr.Jason?" The staff nurse looked at others and let out an awkward smile. "Of course you are good looking! The thing is neither you nor Dr.G are denying the rumor, so I wonder whether it is true or not."

Dr.Zane and the residents laughed at the nurse's doubt. "We are not denying the rumor because pairing Dr.G with Dr.Zane is much better than with Dr.Jason." said Ralph in a loud voice. Gianna was baffled hearing all of them talk so casually about her and noted in her mind to teach them a lesson.

Zane and others were stunned at Ralph's response and Victor gave a smack on the back of Ralph's head and said, "You are dead, if Dr.G hears it!!" Ralph chuckled and winked at the group while rubbing his back of the head. Gianna smirked and thought, 'So they all still know their limits! Don't worry I will surely teach you all a lesson.'

Listening to all the nonsense, Dr.Jason was infuriated. He wanted to kill every single person who was standing in front of him. 'Are they all fools? How can they compare me with that piece of crap, Zane?! In what way is he better looking than me? Only in their dreams! I will teach all of them a lesson, especially Ralph and Zane." thought Dr.Jason while slowly walking towards the group.

Gianna sensed Jason's gentleman vibe slowly turning into a psychopathic vibe. Gianna also wanted to go so that Dr.Jason wouldn't reprimand her residents but was stopped by her phone vibrating in her pocket.

Gianna saw the call was from the ER and took a few steps away from the group as she heard the group greeting Jason. She answered the call and the staff on the other end said, "Good evening Dr.G. We have a motorbike accident patient brought in. The patient has a head injury and also found a few shards of glass pieces on the site of the wound on his lungs and abdomen region."

Gianna wondered how there were residues of glass pieces on the patient's cut if it was a motorbike accident. "Did you take a CT scan?" "Yes Dr.G, there is no bleeding but the patient said he is experiencing a terrible headache."
