Zane was not intimidated by Dr.Henry's question and was going to answer him calmly but Gianna was fast to reply first. "He is Dr.Zane from the emergency department. He came to discuss a patient who is in need of surgery with our department." Dr.Zane was happy witnessing how Dr.G defended him again and nodded at Dr.Henry agreeing on what Dr.G said. Jason was irritated watching Gianna defending Zane and decided to put an end to their show.
"What surgery? Dr.G, I thought you were a responsible person but how can you lie to Dr.Henry with a straight face?" asked Dr.Jason with a smirk on his face. Dr.Henry was confused and asked Dr.G, "Is what Dr.Jason said true, Gianna?"
Gianna looked calmly at Dr.Henry and said, "I am a normal human being and I lie when I feel there is a need, no matter whom I deal with but Dr.Henry, you of all should know that I wouldn't lie about someone's life being in danger. Would I really do that?" Dr.Henry felt bad at himself for doubting Gianna and said, "Go soon and attend the patient."
He looked at Jason and said, "You! Don't simply berate your juniors and be a role model to them." Dr.Henry walked away quietly as soon as he finished speaking and the group was baffled with Dr.G's way of handling the situation.
"You can leave now, Dr.Jason and NEVER. EVER. threaten my residents." said Gianna with her index finger pointed at his face. Jason could no longer face the humiliation and left without another word. 'Gianna you're gonna regret this forever. I already gave you a chance but you pushed me to the edge of the cliff. So, whatever happens next, it's all on you.' thought Dr.Jason as he walked away from the group.
Gianna turned her head instantly and gave a death glare to all. They all were terrified and were sure this would be their last breath they were taking in. "Do you think I have become so lenient that you could do anything you wish?" Gianna continued to glare and asked Victor in a raised voice, "Don't you know how to handle your team or do you want me to teach you?" Everyone felt their legs go weak and didn't dare to look at Dr.G. "This is the last warning for all of you. If I hear such nonsense talk again from any one of you, you better be ready to leave the hospital."
Gianna turned to look at Zane and asked, "The warning is also applicable to you. I will make sure to send you back from where you came from." Gianna took a deep breath and continued, "You need your bloody phone to activate your sense of duty. Prepare for surgery, Victor and Ralph will be there in the operating room soon." Gianna started to walk away from the group and said, "The last one to reach the department room will be out of the project."
Alice was the first one to regain her senses and sprinted towards the room without any concern for others. Stanley, Ralph and Victor were a bit late to recollect but immediately ran towards the room. Zane patted his pockets and realized he misplaced his phone somewhere. Now he understood that Gianna was not defending him but merely told the truth. Zane didn't know what was the situation in the ER that they had to call Gianna and he took off without wasting another minute there. The nurses couldn't take their mind off of Dr.G's cold warning and decided never to talk about anything inside the walls of the hospital.
Zane rushed inside the ER and saw his residents doing their best to treat the patient. He rushed to the patient's side and asked one of the residents to brief him on the patient's condition. Zane soon started to examine the injured area and asked them to prepare the operating room.
Looking at the site of bleeding he also had the same doubt as Gianna but he had no time to think over it now. Gianna, Victor and Ralph also reached the ER. Gianna noticed there was no sign of bleeding in the CT scan and moved over to the patient to examine.
Gianna noticed a bruise on the left side of the head and remembered the nurse informing her that the patient had a headache. She ordered the staff to take another CT scan immediately before the surgery. Zane nodded at them and they moved quickly to take another scan. Gianna looked at the scan which was taken for the second time and saw a sign of chronic subdural haematoma.
Gianna looked at Zane and said with a serious tone, "Stop the bleeding, first. Victor will follow up later because there is a sign of subdural haematoma which also requires immediate care. So, you will have to finish the surgery in one and half hours. Is that possible?" Zane nodded and said, "Will try to finish before that as there is only one deep cut and others are superficial."
Gianna gave a set of instructions to Victor and Ralph before the surgery and sent them off to the operating room. Gianna returned to the emergency room and heard two policemen asking details of the patient from the nurse, who was admitted just now.
