Rick was crouching in front of her and heard the whole conversation. "Did I scare you?" chuckled Rick and sat on the chair beside her. "Shut up!" "So, is the job done?" asked Rick. "What do you think?" replied Gianna with a smirk. "Show me the video!" said Rick. Gianna opened the video file and played it for him. Rick watched the video in silence till last and started clapping while shouting BRAVO.
Gianna smiled at his response. She sent the video to Julia's number and reminded her to delete it soon after watching it. "You got some good connections, Dr. Gianna!" appreciated Rick. "Did the call wake you up?" asked Gianna. Rick nodded and said, "Why does Mason want to have coffee with you?" "How will I answer that in one word?" asked Gianna as she thought of an answer.
"It's not necessary to answer every time in one word," said Rick with a smile. "Infatuation," said Gianna. Rick sat straight and asked, "Do you feel the same way?" "I am not sure." Gianna shrugged her shoulders. "One-word answer, Gianna." "Didn't you just say it's not necessary?" asked Gianna with a chuckle.
Rick and Gianna were admiring the night sky. Ring ring… Gianna saw Julia's name on the phone display and put it on the speaker so that Rick could also hear their conversation because he would be naturally curious, and she was too lazy to explain it to him all again. "Hello, Julia." Gianna heard a crying sound from the other side and knew Julia was shedding happy tears. Gianna didn't disturb her and let her cry her heart out. Rick also waited patiently and felt terrible.
"Thank you, Dr. G! I will always be grateful to you!" said Julia in a low voice. "I want you to be strong and live your life without regrets! Nothing more," said Gianna. Julia thanked her again. Gianna instructed her to take a good rest before ending the call. "She will be fine as long as you give her the strength to face the world!" said Rick. Gianna nodded and looked at the beautiful night sky.
Ding Dong... "Our dinner is here!!" exclaimed Rick and walked into the study room. Gianna chuckled and opened the door with a smile, but instantly the smile vanished.
"Why are you here, Dr. Jason?" asked Gianna. "Dr. Jason?" mumbled Rick in the study room.
"Chief sent me to check on you. Won't you invite me in?" asked Jason. Gianna wasn't sure about his reason, but eventually, she let him in. Jason briefly looked around the house and sat on the couch. "How are you feeling?" asked Jason with a smile. "I am good. I didn't know the chief knew my address," said Gianna as she sat on the couch. Jason shrugged his shoulders, and said, "I don't know how he got the address. You seem to be uncomfortable with my presence."
"Of course, you dumbhead. Why would you even visit at this time of day?" mumbled Rick pressing his ears against the door. Gianna shook her head and said, "Nothing like that. I am just surprised by your sudden visit. Would you like to have coffee?" "Juice would be better!" suggested Jason. Gianna gave a fake smile and went inside the kitchen.
'I hope Rick stays inside. Why did the chief send him out of all the people in the hospital? Such a creep!' thought Gianna as she prepared the juice. Gianna made three glasses of juice and placed one in the refrigerator while she took two glasses of orange pulp juice to the living room.
Gianna placed both glasses on the table and sat on the couch. Rick didn't move an inch from the door and continued to eavesdrop on their conversation. Jason took a sip of his juice and asked, "Can you add a little more sugar to the juice?"
"Why can't you just drink what you got? How dare you make her do work when she is not well?" mumbled Rick behind the door. Gianna went inside the kitchen to bring some more sugar. Jason quickly took a long sachet from his pocket and emptied it into Gianna's drink. He quickly stirred it with the sachet and leaned on the couch.
Gianna came with the sugar and added two spoons to Jason's glass. "The surrounding here is peaceful and makes you feel fresh," said Jason as he sipped the juice. "Yeah. I prefer these kinds of surroundings," said Gianna. Gianna brought her glass near her mouth to take a sip, but she could smell a strange, sweet scent from the juice. Jason saw Gianna sniffing her drink and asked, "How is the injury? Did you redress it? Should I help you?" Jason diverted her with his questions. Gianna drank a sip of the juice and said, "It's fine now. I redressed it in the morning."
Even though Gianna was talking with Jason, she was racking her brain to identify the smell. She sniffed the juice casually once more, and she recognized it instantly. She sat calmly and drank another sip. Gianna noticed a faint smile on Jason's face and understood what he was planning.
"Dr. Jason, can you do me a favor? Please?" asked Gianna with a cute facial expression. Jason's heart skipped a beat. 'Is the drug already working? If her face could make my hormones go crazy, what would happen if I saw her whole body,' thought Jason.
"Sure. What is it?" asked Jason. "I unknowingly brought a patient's chart along with my other papers. I planned to rest for one more day, so can you pass it on to Victor tomorrow?" asked Gianna, maintaining her cute facial expression. "Why not? I would surely help you." "Thank you so much, Dr. Jason. I will bring the chart now," said Gianna and stood up to walk to the study room.
"Why does her voice sound flirty? Didn't she and her team hate him?" mumbled Rick, moving away from the door.
