Chapter - 115 - Green signal

Back at the hospital, Gianna entered her office after the rounds. She heard a light knock on the door and asked the person to come in. Gianna smiled faintly upon seeing the person who stepped inside her office. "Good morning, Gianna! How are you feeling?" Gianna signaled him to sit on the chair and said, "Good morning, Michael! I am good. What about you?"

Michael chuckled and said, "I know it's too late to ask this question! I was completely busy with surgeries. How is the cut in the hand?" "Completely healed!" Michael nodded and said, "Please accept my apology on behalf of Kristen. You know how she is! Right from the university, she was always impulsive! So, don't bear any hard feelings towards her for old-time sake!"

Gianna chuckled and said, "I don't understand why you are apologizing to me! I wouldn't have cared about this incident, but her impulsiveness nearly ruined a patient's precious life, and I can't sit back without doing anything. Also, I am not a person who would hold a grudge against useless people. The management is the one who is deciding on this, and I don't have a say in it!"

"I just wanted to apologize to you as her colleague. Take care of your health, Gianna. See you!" said Michael with a smile as he stood up. Gianna nodded and bid goodbye to him. "Kristen never apologized to me, but Michael is apologizing for her! Humans and their confusing nature! Also, there is this, Rick! A total nutcase!" muttered Gianna as she checked her email.

Ring ring… "Yes, Dr. Henry," said Gianna as she answered the call. "I have received mail regarding the project. Let's discuss it in my office after the lunch break." Gianna agreed and hung up the call. "I will have to manage the project now along with the department. Will I get time to build the path toward the goal?" mumbled Gianna.

Somewhere in the city, in the studio apartment. "Gianna was right on!!! Does she have any supernatural powers?!!" exclaimed Aldo loudly. "I told you! She has a 99.8% success rate in her 'IF' theory." said Roberto with a chuckle through the computer screen. "The Night Devil is capable just as the rumor. We should be extra careful dealing with this notorious guy!" said Lorenzo as he munched on his sandwich.

"He is the most powerful among all the capos for a reason! If G and the night Devil have a face-off, who do you think will win?" asked Lucia with a serious expression. All four were silent and thought about it deeply. "Of course, Gianna!" exclaimed Aldo. "Yeah, no doubt!" "Of course!" joined the others. "It's been three weeks since G contacted us! Should I call her to inform her that we have found a lead?" asked Roberto. "Yes. Inform her. She would have been busy, or else she would have contacted us sooner." said Lorenzo.

In the Visconti base, "Finish packing the rest and inform your men to assemble today at 8 pm," said Rick, and left the room with a serious look. "Why does he sound more serious than usual?" asked Derrick in confusion. Ben and Albert shrugged as they looked at the door. Rick sighed as he sat in front of his laptop. "No one has ever made me this restless! She has completely taken over my mind! GIANNA!!!!!" groaned as he typed a few codes.

Back in the hospital, Dr. Henry welcomed Gianna with a bright smile. Gianna was confused and smiled back awkwardly. "Good news! Good news!" said Dr. Henry loudly as he sat on the couch. "The sponsors accepted all your terms and conditions, and the sponsor said that only you will have the right to make decisions in this project!" Gianna was confused. 'Am I dreaming?' thought Gianna and asked, "So no one will interfere with me irrespective of any decisions I take?" Henry nodded with a smile, and said, "That was the only condition put forth by the sponsor!"

Gianna was baffled and felt something was not adding up. She thanked Dr. Henry and left the room still in a daze. "Why would they give me all the rights to make decisions? Do they know me? Or are they planning something big against me? I should investigate this so-called sponsor!" mumbled Gianna as she walked down the hallway.

The residents were startled when they heard the door suddenly pushed open as they were deeply engrossed in their work. "Good afternoon, Dr. G!" said the residents in unison. "Gather up," said Gianna and stood at the head of the table. Everyone sat in the chairs around the table and looked at her attentively.

"We have been given a green signal for the project." The residents cheered as they heard the great news, but Tom, John, and Liam were slightly disappointed as they weren't a part of the project led by their genius mentor! Gianna noticed the slight change in their expression and said with a smile, "As now I have three more efficient residents, I have no worries about the success of this project!" They couldn't believe their ears and looked at Gianna in surprise.

"What? You don't want to join?" teased Gianna. "NO WAY!!!" shouted all three in unison. "Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity, Dr. G!" said Tom in an elevated voice. John and Liam were so happy that they couldn't say anything. They never expected Gianna would allow them to join the project and finally understood how kindhearted Dr. G was even though she was strict!

Gianna chuckled and said, "After sorting out the roles, I will let you all know! For now, let's get ready for the rounds!"
