Farron

Chapter 19

On the way to the land of Lisha...

"My lady are you sure about this?" asked Ericka.

Reina smiles at her "Why would I not be?" she asked.

"It's dangerous to travel on your own" Ericka said.

Reina looks at the window of the carriage. The road is rocky and there a lots of trees and beautiful scenery but as time passed by the land starts to become barren.

In the novel the location of the mining area where the spirit stones can be found is in the middle of the Land of Lisha. It is a cave where a big body of a dry tree can be seen. In the entire barren land that particular part is very obvious but no one has the guts to venture because according to hearsay there is a wild beast guarding the place. A white giant fox with red eyes. Who devour anyone who tried to go there but no one can really prove that it is real for they never really met the white fox. But people also never ventured out in the said place.

"Stop here for a moment" said Reina. She goes down the carriage and call Sir Alabaster.

"Sir Alabaster, can I have a word with you?" asked Reina.

"Yes, what do you want my lady?" asked Sir Alabaster respectfully.

"I want you to look for a big dry tree near a cave" said Reina.

Ericka was puzzled by her mistress actions. While the chosen miner of her brother are during that time.

"Why did the Duke's daughter bring us in the barren land?" asked one of the miner.

"I don't have any idea. According to the young Duke she request him to choose miner that she will bring here in Lisha. But regarding on the things we will going to mine. I don't have any idea. I thought this land is also called a waste land. So I don't really understand why she needs us here. The young Duke also said that this job is confidential. Whatever you see in here will remain here and for those who will disobey will be executed" said the head miner.

"To be honest this job is not dangerous and the pay is higher than the other so I accept it. I don't care what she wants to dig in here as long as she pays us generously is enough" said the other miner.

"Oh! Well I think most of us have the same reason" said the other one.

"Ok miss" Sir Alabaster replied.

"Knights look for a dry big tree near the cave" said Sir Alabaster to the knights.

"Yes sir" replied the knights and starts searching.

After an hour of searching the place one of the knights called Sir Alabaster and report to him. He walks near to Reina and salute before he reports what the knights said.

"My lady according to Sir Draven they already found a place which match with the description you made" said Sir Alabaster.

"Really? Where?" Reina said excitedly. "Bring me there so that I can have a look at it" said Reina.

"Ok miss but please don't do something reckless I heard that this place has a demon fox who is guarding the place" said Sir Alabaster.

Reina was stunned with what she heard. She didn't think that a knight like sir Alabaster also listen to gossip. Reina smiled mysteriously.

"Ok I promise" Reina replied.

Then all of them go to the place where the knights saw the dry big tree. They are all stunned when they see it exactly as Reina said. There is really a cave present near it. All of them are amaze of what they see.

"Let's get inside" said Reina.

All of them were shocked with what they've heard.

"Miss, are you serious?" Ericka said with a horrified expression.

"Don't worry I have knights with me" Reina replied to Ericka.

"Knights be ready and on guard always. Do you understand?" said Sir Alabaster to his knights.

"Yes Sir Alabaster" replied all the knights.

The Five knights together with Sir Alabaster get inside the cave together with Reina.

Inside the cave all Reina could see is a typical cave which has nothing. She continues to venture out inside the cave until all of them are mesmerized with what they see a beautiful huge Blue crystal at the center of the cave.

"Sir Alabaster stay here with your knights. I will see the crystal first" said Reina. She felt something is actually observing them. It seems that they are not the only one present there.

Reina stand near the huge Blue crystal and touched it. The blue crystal shine brilliantly the moment Reina touched it. All the blue crystal surrounding the cave appear before their eyes.

All the knights are surprised with what they see. The blue crystals are very beautiful, the place seems like a magical place.

"Thief, what are you going to do with my things?" said the laud voice out of nowhere.

All the knights were stunned while Reina was shocked. Then the cave started to tremble and all of them drop on the ground. Then a huge white furry animal in the formed of a dog with red eyes appeared.

"A Farron be careful my lady that is a white fox in the legend. It says the he is the guardian of Lisha's treasure. A cruel fox in the legend who killed the entire citizen of the ancient country Farrion. How come it is really here in Lisha?" said Sir Alabaster.

"What a Farron?" Reina was stunned again with what she hears.

"Disgusting humans don't call my name as if you know me very well" said the huge white fox. He fired the knights with water that comes out of its mouth.

The knights use their magic to shield themselves with the fox attacked. While they are busy shielding themselves the Farron next attacked was aimed to Reina.

"My lady" Sir Alabaster shouted out of shocked.

Reina remained stunned and it's too late to avoid the attacked. She remembered what she read in the book of how to wield the power of the spirits and one of those is defense.

In order to manipulate it she had to focus her energy to a certain place for example her hand. She needs to let her energy flow and directed it to a certain position and after accumulating certain amount of energy then release it. A shield formed in front of her. The Farron was stunned when he saw the energy released by the human in front of him.

"You, how come you possess his power?" said the white fox to Reina.

"What are you talking about?" Reina said. While the knights felt weakened by the white fox attacked. They know that once the white fox attacked them again they won't be able to resist it.

"You are the descendants of that woman. The receiver of the blessings of that impertinent spirit" said the white fox through mental telepathy.

"How did you know them?" Reina asked vigilantly.

"I am an ancient beast so I know" replied the white fox irritation.

"Hey Mr. Fox can we have a deal?" said Reina seriously.

"Hmmmmm…..what can a human like you offer to me?" asked the White fox sarcastically.

"I promise that I won't let anyone disturb your peace here but allow me to at least have half of the portion of the Blue crystal. By the way I am the new owner of this land. My name is Reina Von Helios" said Reina.

"So you are the daughter of that psychopath of a man" said the White fox.

"Do you have any grudge on my father?" asked Reina.

"He disturb my sleep by overtaking this land. This is my graveyard those people are always trying to get on my nerves" replied the white fox. "You, you want a share of the crystal. You don't have the right to negotiate with me" said the White fox.

"Mr. Fox, please be generous I won't be greedy just to get all of this. Just give me enough to support my family in the future" said Reina.

The white fox became silent, this crystal is the source of his power once this power source where consumed he is going to die for good.

"Are you prepared to trade everything just to have this crystal?" asked the White Fox.

"Yes" Reina replied. This spirit stones can help them to prevent the upcoming destruction of their Kingdom. To help their kingdom to form an alliance to other countries specially the Jabalom Kingdom.

"If you are really willing how about forming a contract with me?" asked the white fox.

"What!" Reina was shocked to his condition.

"Don't you want to?" asked the white fox.

"No, I just don't expect you to form a contract to me" Reina replied honestly.

"But why not? Your body is special, you possess unlimited spiritual power within you which I needed in order to survive. Between this crystal and your body, I prefer your body much more than this things" said the White fox seriously.
