Did He Bully You?

Zhao Xing and her friend talked a bit more, Tang Rongyi stayed and had lunch with her. They discussed a lot about strategy, and how they would handle the fifth daughter of the left Minister.

"What do you think she'll do?" Would she disgrace her or ask her to recite a poem or to write one? Or would she ask her to paint or play an instrument?

"Um…they're so many ways to humiliate someone in such a gathering, after all, these ladies only ever go to such parties because they want to show off, and tell everyone that they're superior. So they often try to cast down the weaker ones. In your case, since you're from the mountains, and didn't receive the best education, they'll probably hit you on this spot" Tang Rongyi paused as she looked Zhao Xing up and down, before continuing, "Only, you don't look at all like a girl who's been through hard life. Although you're not stunningly beautiful, you have your own charm, and with my Big Brother taking good care of you, as well as the treatment you've received, one wouldn't be able to tell that you aren't originally a noble."

Zhao Xing laughed awkwardly, of course she didn't live in the mountains, neither did she have a hard life, the only hard thing she did in her life was studying, doing chores, and running errands for her mom, compared to the lives of the peasants here, her life was pretty easy.

"Anyway, you don't have to do much, you still have the Crown Prince and I, so no matter how sore those losers get, they wouldn't dare go too far."

Zhao Xing nodded. Well, she couldn't do much about her predicament anyway, if this Fifth Miss does send her an invitation, she'd have to go, if she doesn't it'll be an excuse to find more trouble with her in the future.

Tang Rongyi continued talking to her about the ladies and the different evil plots they play against each other. "If your background is weak, you're automatically a subject of bullying, if you have a bad reputation, if you had been disgraced…in the end it's just best to have few friends you trust in and not mind the rest."

"Aiya, let's not talk about this, tell me how you're enjoying life as a Noble Princess." Tang Ronyi said with a smile.

Zhao Xing had only spent but two days, people treated her no different from the way the servants in the Crown Prince manor did, so she hadn't had time to go out yet, even though this was what excited her the most about living in her very own manor.

"Everything's normal…" She replied. She had already told her that she didn't do much during the past days. She had just arrived, if everything wasn't carefully arranged by the Crown Prince before she got here, then she might have had to spend these days arranging this and that. Besides she also had a lot to do. She couldn't trust the people here, and so she would have to be careful how she handled things, before someone got suspicious.

Tang Rongyi shook her head, "Sister Xing, You don't know, but it's almost impossible for a woman to have her own place here, those with the title Noble Princess all live with their families, although they're well respected, but they're still restricted by their households, but you…Sigh, if I were like you, would I have to run away from home every now and then."

Zhao Xing thought about it. That's right. Living on her own as a lady, even back in her world wasn't easy. That would mean she would have to be two times stronger to make sure no one bullied her.

This place was full of the Crown Prince's enemies, and those who hated the Crown Prince would automatically hate her. Not to mention, those who she offended just because she was close to the Prince.

"Sister Tang don't say so, having your family here to protect you is the best thing you could ask for." Zhao Xing had her family, but they weren't here, if she could she would trade everything she got to return to her normal life.

Tang Rongyi felt she said something she shouldn't and quickly apologized, "…I…I don't mean it that way, I just wish my father would be a little bit more understanding."

Zhao Xing laughed when she saw how flustered her friend became. "Of course freedom is the best, when I lived in the Crown Prince manor, I also missed the times I could go wherever I wanted whenever I wanted. It was so boring every day."

"Eh? My big brother actually bullied you like this?" Tang Rongyi felt that depriving others from their freedom was an unacceptable conduct.

Zhao Xing didn't think it was safe to go into much details. Plus, Zhang Zhengyang might come find trouble with her if Tang Rongyi went to complain.

"Of course not, I just…it's an unfamiliar place, so I didn't feel safe about going out, even though I really wish I could..."

"Oh." Tang Rongyi nodded in understanding. "My Big Brother is indeed busy, so he wouldn't have time to take you out, I'm sure you wouldn't feel safe if he didn't go with you...I was like that too when I followed my uncle to the border for the first time. But after a few days of going around to so many fun places, I ended up liking it a lot."

"In the future I can go with you, and then I'll show you lots of things, you'll surely like it."

Zhao Xing nodded and smiled at her. She was secretly proud of herself for knowing how to lie so well. Being a delinquent at school had its perks.
