Was he calling her stupid?

Her guess was right.

She wondered why the two were worrying about something so silly. In the end wasn't everyone going to get what they wanted?

"I think what Old Man Su said is right, Zhang Zhengyang, with your identity, it's hard for you to suffer loses, but just look at Old Man Su, he works hard to make a living, it's normal that he has apprehensions. Just do as he says."

Old Man Su smiled, seeing Zhao Xing supported him. He pointed towards her as he looked at the Crown Prince, "See, such a sensible girl you have around"

Zhang Zhengyang knew this, but this man was too cunning and easily held grudges. He was afraid there might be something wrong with the antidote, by the time he leaves, who would treat Zhao Xing if the Old Man wanted her dead?

The poison he made, not even those skilled doctors could cure it, not to talk of other poison this man could be hiding with him.

But since Zhao Xing had openly put it this way, he decided to comply. "Xiao Chen, quickly ask people to bring Old Man Su's granddaughter here."

"Yes" Xiao Chen hurriedly left after that.

Hearing this Old Man Su's eyes lit up. "That's more like it."

"Xiao Qi, you leave with Xiao Chen too, it's been a while since you last saw Xi Xi, she must miss you a lot." Zhao Xing said.

Xiao Qi: "…?" She was currently doing her work as her maid, how could she leave for personal reasons? Besides, who said she wanted to leave. She wondered what Zhao Xing was playing at.

The Crown Prince was also puzzled, but Zhao Xing didn't seem to be joking, and so he waved at Xiao Qi asking her to leave.

Despite being confused Xiao Qi still left.

The Crown Prince turned to Old Man Su, "It is indeed not good to part with an argument, Xiao Chen would bring Xi Xi here along with the compensation, you can take your granddaughter and leave."

Zhao Xing took her seat, she had been paying attention to the two she had forgotten to sit down. "Old Man Su, don't mind him, with how skilled you are, I would certainly need your help in the future, so I definitely wouldn't allow Zhang Zhengyang to do anything even if he wanted to."

She had thought it would take a bit more time before Old Man Su finishes concocting the poison, so she didn't make time to visit him on her own. Who would have thought he would soon be leaving?"

She leaned closer to him with a fawning smile as she filled his cup with tea.

"Old Man Su, it's said you've traveled to many places before and seen many things, in fact, apart from being a poison master many people come to look for information from you. Your roots run real deep." Zhao Xing began.

Old Man Su raised a brow when he saw the way she acted. "I have indeed traveled around much when I was younger, both my master and I. We even crossed the borders and have seen other countries. But after I met Meng Meng's mother, I didn't travel much any longer."

Zhang Zhengyang heard this and it immediately caught his attention. As for Zhao Xing she was very delighted.

She nodded her head in contemplation. No one knew what she was planning. Zhang Zhengyang could only wait and see what she was up to.

"That means Old Man Su must be very knowledgeable."

Old Man Su laughed, "Of course, what haven't I seen? Lass, I tell you the world is full of weird things no one can easily explain, just like poison, there are the normal ones you can easily find, and the intermediate ones that are a bit tricky to cure and the rare wicked ones that either have no cure or are extremely hard to find it's ingredients whether for the poison itself, or for the antidote."

This confused Zhao Xing even further. Weren't they talking about how weird the world was, when did it suddenly become a lecture about the different types of poisons that exist?

Old Man Su noticed her confusion and smiled, "I've gotten used to explaining things to Sister Xi when she used to visit me. These days young people are getting more and more unwise, hard to teach."

Zhao Xing: "…" Was he calling her stupid? No wait, did he just put herself and Xiao Qi at the same level of IQ?

She heard a soft chuckle coming from her side, she turned and glared in that direction. "What are you laughing at?" What he said wasn't easy to understand ok? She didn't learn poison how could she relate?

Zhang Zhengyang shook his head and said nothing.

'Forget it' She consoled herself with the fact that Old Man Su wouldn't know how to manipulate a mobile phone if he ever saw one. Especially the more advanced ones of recent times. She had more important things to do anyway, there was no need to argue with him.

"Actually, there's this book I read once, it was very interesting, it talked about an old man who hadn't fulfilled his dream of becoming an official after taking the imperial examination numerous times, but when he passed away he soon realized he that he was taken back to the time when he was much younger."

Both the Crown Prince and the Poison Master listened attentively as she spoke, they had never heard of something so novel.

Zhao Xing continued, "It was as if the heavens took pity on him, and wanted to give him another chance, ever since then, he could predict the future, this way he was able to pass the exam successfully and become one of the youngest genius to work as an official in court."

"Eh, Zhao girl, which book is this? Something like this was written how come I didn't know about it?" Old Man Su asked with interest.

'Of course you wouldn't know it was made up!'

But Zhao Xing, so good at lying went ahead and answered, "It was an old book I bought from a merchant once in little merchant city." She was sure neither the Crown Prince nor Old Man Su would be able to find out the truth. Little Merchant City was as it's name a city of merchants, people bought and sold all sort of things there. Though, because of the recent war (the war fought by General Yang before his victorious return), it declined a bit in commerce but things were soon going back to normal. She had said she just randomly bought a book, who would refute?

It seemed they really did fall for the lie, as he didn't ask any further.

Seeing this Zhao Xing stopped beating around the bush and went ahead and asked what was on her mind. "When I read this book I was also fascinated, so I wanted to know if such a thing as reliving the past, or even predicting the future actually exist. I'm originally not superstitious but I'm still curious, Old Man Su has traveled to so many places, have you ever seen someone who can precisely predict someone else's future? Or even someone who claimed to be from the past, or maybe even…the future?"
