One by one, children are dying in a city. It is getting gloomy day by day. Threatened by an evil lake, the city of Volis is under an unknown curse. Nobody is willing to stay here any longer. Arya- a thoughtful teen is on a journey towards self-identification, love and discovery of his own city. The city of Volis is full of possibilities, mystery and secrets which he will dig out when destiny empowers him mysteriously. 
Amidst various twists on his journey, he also discovers an incident in his family which the city might condemn.

Arya: A Life, A Quest

Wini was thrown inside the back seat of the car.The man was approaching towards her. Wini tried to uncover his face by pulling off his mask. Alas! She failed.The man was now leaning towards her and as he did, he was frozen in awe. Her teary and horrified face was stunning for the man. He went blank for some time. 


Wini who was terrified, now realises that the man was not moving or doing anything. She opens her eyes which were closed until then in fear. She saw the masked man was very close to her but was still. Wini knew that this could be her chance to escape. 


Wini now moved closer towards him. The masked man seemed confused. She tried to lock her eyes with his, peeking through the mask. As she reached a considerable amount of closeness, she gave him a strong push. The man got pushed out of the open door of the car. Wini hurriedly got out of the car and escaped. Wini realises that  she was attempted to be molested and this will be a life long scar. She weeps and hurries to leave the parking lot. 


The masked man, who was almost in some sort of trance, now gains consciousness. He opens his mask and calls out her name. "Wini" He calls aloud. Wini stops. She was familiar with the voice. She turned back to look at who it was. "Alec!" With her trembling lips, she whispered to herself. Both of them kept staring at each other. Wini started to walk back to him. She was slowly walking towards him, her face indicated her utter confusion. Alec stood frozen. He had seen a side of his boss today, which probably no one knew of. A timid girl, just like any other who also sheds tears and not as brave as she pretends to be. 


Wini stood right in front of him. Her eyes were teary, lips were trembling. There was silence and darkness all over the parking space just like in the minds of the two people in there. After about half a minute, Wini snuggled into Alec's chest. Alec was taken aback. He was left in thought. "Should I pat her back?" , "Wait did she just hug me? "Is my Boss still standing here, hugging me?", " I know what I did and why, but whatever she's doing now, I just don't… Don't get it".


While all these questions were hovering around his mind, Wini twitches his shirt and starts crying. "Do you all hate me so much?" She whispered while crying. 


"We had another injury report yesterday, Arya!" said a member of The Social Welfare Trust. "But this time we couldn't save the victim." He added. "Why not?" Arya asked. "The victim was a child. He drank the lake water." Hearing this Arya's eyes enlarged. "The child's father was mortified yesterday. He was running throughout the hospital." Said the member. "Quite shabby to be honest," Added another member. 


"He was the one who came to our house that night" Arya murmured. "Arya? Did you say something?" The member asked. "No… how long was the kid hospitalized? " Arya asked. "Umm… Three days." replied the member. "Don't worry, hopefully no more deaths due to that evil lake. There is a vaccine which has been imported. We need a batch of volunteers now." He added. 


"A vaccine? How come I didn't know of it earlier?" Arya asked. 


"Well, you're new to the Trust and don't seem to be active so… " The member replied. 


"Oh come on! He should have been told. Don't forget he just got married after all." The other member interrupted. "That's not an excuse, when you join the trust, you should be active and prove your worth," The former said. Both the members soon started debating among themselves. 


"Marriage, right" saddened Arya, murmured.
