Chapter 17 : General could be good and bad

Clarrie sighed as she considered more effectively ignoring the feeling of anger towards the prince.

"You really have a bad mouth, Prince." She shared her opinion.

With no denying it, Julius replied. "Someone like me has a way of talking," Clarrie does not want to make the Princess agree in taking the prince as her husband, he was not worth it. The uneasiness with Clarrie which got her doubting was a conversation of notice that he does not care much about marrying the princess.

"I hope your tongue will be among those individuals who lost it, for the reason that there is no holding back when you are talking impolite, Prince." She said while making herself stay calm. "Are you that desperate to stop our engagement? Because there will be no problem with me,"

Julius' expression did not change. He still looks agreeable enough but his eyes seem to slightly shift, another thought that Clarrie could have said 'The Prince is really a man who is not closely nice or easy-going.'

"Do I have to say it to you again, Princess, that the prince in front of you is going to marry you and I will do what I think is required? Since we are both going to eventually ruin each other."

Clarrie did not even stop herself anymore as she admitted, "I ensure you that I will not love you."

'Princess, I hope I did say the right thing.'

Quietness.

"Nor do I ponder that I always will."

"Perhaps you do not know, that marriage between us will save both of our people and soldiers. So, whatever may be your or my reason, we must think of ways to persuade ourselves in time, my future wife."

"What kind of character do you have? First, you were like pushing me away and now, you wanted to persuade ourselves in time? And calling me your future wife? You are the prince, but I am not your dumb Princess." She said while twisting the door knob.

"I do not think you even remember your welcoming speech, Princess. Let me tell you that you are being suspicious of what I can see when you come inside my room. In addition, you told me that you are looking for the General, and the people you asked that passed by responded to you that no one is there inside the room. Still, you tried getting in. But why?" The side of his mouth slowly curved up, while the half of his face had a dimmed reflection of the shadow of the candle. His appearance was oddly disturbing as Clarrie glanced at him.

"Prince, you must also know that whether this room is occupied or not, I will still enter because I wanted to see what kind of man I am going to marry. And your room decoration helps me have the answers to the question I had in mind and the way you talk to me; I know what type of creature you are now."

"Ha, only a Princess like you would think that being with this type of beast you say will help you get what you lack aside from being ruined after our wedding day."

Clarrie for a reason felt a little refreshed when she finally hears the prince agree on being a creature.

"If we do marry each other and as you said that we would plus the word that we are also going to be ruining each other, then am I going to witness how both of our people will be ruined as well? Because I would just rather suffer alone." She said and she was confident of it.

After hearing what Clarrie just said, Julius suddenly sighed and understood that he was a bit harsh in approaching the different Princess. He had to let another sigh out as a way of making himself relax. He knows that the woman inside the room just used the Princess's identity and, in that scene, he just had to ask the real Princess why she had somebody else use her name.

Are they mutually trying to destroy the chance of the Prince and Princess's joy?

With him acting as Zhang Wei and the woman in front as the Princess, their situation was almost similar in some period.

Clarrie feel bitter about the fact that she entered the room, she expected everything to go smoothly as she can see in her day. Although the Princess did not ask her to do it, she had sacrificed herself and the Princess's identity, it was clear that she would feel guilty as likely it. Her hands were not sweating on the knob like an ice cube melting down, and her knees had become weak. She was mumbling to herself.

At first, Julius thought that the acting Princess was just pausing at the door, but he could see that her hand on the knob was sweating a lot. For Julius, it was not normal and even if his approach was a little harsh towards the woman, he still should help her out as a man. The past few days were just about work and he had accomplished it all so nothing but helping people would convey to him a stress-free heart.

Clarrie was still upright with a good posture; however, Julius was worried and there was a possibility that the situation might get worse if he let her continue standing.

"If you wanted to go out from the room alive, then stay here and sit down. You do not have to talk, just sit." He said ill-manneredly, but he did try to be polite. It just does not go well when he speaks. "You know what, stay there and continue holding the knob."

Clarrie's expression in her eyes did not even lighten up, she was trying to focus on not showing her anger in front of the prince.

Until Julius moved away from the candle stand.

She could hear footsteps going nearer and nearer towards her. And when she was about to turn around, Julius bowed in front of her but not a courtesy , he only bowed to check on her shoes.
