Chapter 4: Abandoned warehouse

Sirens cries out in the far distance- two individuals that wore rags with a dirty appearance, frantically looking through dumpsters in the alley. The man quickly made his way inside the broken-down building as soon as he got out of a nice-looking car. The homeless people halted their actions, watching the man debating on if they should rob the old man- feeling their needy eyes on him only made him hurry in with his cane helping him along. The dark interior is made up of different sizes of shadows as a broken glass roof let in some light revealing a beautiful sky- the sun gradually went down setting the entire sky on fire. The fat man glancing around his head feeling an uneasiness creep up his back making him grip around the cane turning his knuckles white.

Nervously stumbling back and forth trying not to trip over things. This feeling started after he left Wolverton Corp. and throughout the day trying to shake it but only caused the feeling to deepen- a feeling where he's being watched by someone but no matter how mad he glanced around, he couldn't find anyone. Frantically wiping his forehead noticing how shaky his hands actually are making anger bubble down within.

'I can't believe I'm scared! Tsk.'

Shoving the rag violently back in his pocket as he turned around away from the garage door- the broken windows let in a soft breeze and the sound of crickets waking up.

Feeling his heart drop in a panic, as he did drop the cane- clamping down his jaw so a scream wouldn't escape.

"Why so nervous?" A hidden figure asked in the shadows sitting on something hard while wearing a black cloak to conceal any personal detail. A big smile peeking out below the hood showing off sparkly white teeth- that smile crept chills up his spine causing his fingers go cold as he watched the secret person tilt their heads to a side while playing swinging their legs.

"Ehm. I've done everything that's been ordered of me, and everything is going smoothly- You see I just can't do this anymore." Trying to tip-toe around the subject without angering anyone.

"You're almost done. Do what you're told, and it'll be over with faster. No need to try and think with that old brain of yours- might hurt yourself."

His old face grew red from their statement but didn't dare to say something only just clenched his cane as he swallowed a big ball of dry air.

"Bu-But I think Wolverton i-is on to us." Wiping away sweat nervously as his beady eyes darted back and forth- unsure they should speak here. This time as he told his true thoughts. The cloaked figured narrowed their eyes giving sharp daggers towards the irritating old man.

"I said its fine."

The old turtle swallowed again, hearing the threat in their voice sent another shiver down his spine but couldn't help but push the matter.

"But I think-"

"ENOUGH! I said it isn't a big deal. IS NOT! Do as you are told- that's an order! Or do you want me to give this matter to the boss?"

Their loud voice caused a few mice to scurry away as the broken windows to rumble a little bit- subconsciously taking back- knowing he went too far. His small eyes widen from hearing the boss might be informed as he quickly bowed his head.

"That won't be necessary. I overstepped- I'm sorry." Pleading like a small worm trying not to get hooked and thrown into the water. The hidden person sighs at the pathetic sight whiling taking something from their pocket- opening a vile, that contains a purplish black powder looking like a tiny galaxy's been captured; using their thumb- the long nail being used as a knife as it brought up the hood.

Inhaling two giant sniffs before safely putting it back in the pocket as a huge smile appeared in the darkness once again.

"Are you going to finish the next 5 shipments?" Their question sounds more of a statement- nodding with the old man's nods.

"Ye-Yes."

"Good!" Jumping off the box- seeping into the ground shadows. "I'll see you at our next appointment." Turning around as the shadows swallowing the individual.

The old man was about ready to leave before he heard the person speak again- this time in a giggling tone.

"Oh! Next time, don't be so nervous~." A set of vibrant, perfect teeth shinning out of the shadows before softly fading away. The old man felt fear rise as the smile seem to etch itself in his mind, walking back to his car, this time the homeless people were gone.
