Second Honeymoon: Hannah

We got off the plane and I marveled at the little Caribbean town. The sea air whipped around us, and the sun immediately began warming my skin. Back home, autumn was setting in and cool air had been moving in. While I thought I had been ready for the change in seasons, feeling the Bahamian sun made me realize maybe I hadn't gotten enough of summer quite yet.

A car took us from the small airstrip, across the tiny island, and we got onto a ferry. I stood on the edge of the ship and looked out at the ocean. Roman stood right over me, his hands gripping the railing on both sides of me.

"This really is paradise," I breathed. "I could stand here and stare out at this ocean all day."

"Careful, the mermaids may lure you in," Roman teased, kissing the top of my head.

"I don't think it's me that needs to worry about mermaids," I giggled.

His one hand moved to rest on my waist. "You're the only maiden for me," he purred in my ear.
