Back to Normal: Hannah

I slept as soundly as I had in weeks that night, my worries eased into nothing more than fleeting thoughts. I couldn't remember the last time my dreams were so peaceful that not only did I not remember them, but they left no impact. The worst feeling had to be stress from a dream you couldn't even remember. That the early feeling of morning ripped it from your mind without mercy. Then again, maybe I didn't want to know the evils my stressed mind would conjure.

When I heard the distant sound of Roman's alarm going off and felt him stir, for once, I was stirred with him. I peered up to him in the pitch black before gazing over to his alarm clock. "Why do you get up so early?" I croaked to him with a little laugh.

He leaned over me and kissed my lips briefly. "Because I have to keep up this physical form if I'm going to look good for you," he chuckled back.
