AFTER the long conversation with Riku, Levi had to bid his farewell. He didn't want to create confusion for the Fujiwara family, especially in these challenging times. But he pledged to help them with the investigation.

Levi and the deputy were in the parking area sharing their observations about Kana's case. "Deputy, this is not just an isolated case of reckless driving. And you know that as well. It saddens me that I couldn't get a shred of evidence to convict the culprit." Levi massaged his forehead and exhaled sharply.

"We can't convict them with our hunch and a mere hearsay."

"I know, and I might sound like a broken record, but I want you to be careful all the time. I was too confident and let my guard down. This happened to Lieutenant Fujiwara while I was engrossed in another matter. Let's lie low for the time being. I don't want you to suffer the same fate as her." Levi had to remind Deputy Marquez again because Bien would surely target him next.
