COMPROMISE

"AKIE, let's get married." Bien put the red velvet box on the table. He asked Akesha to have dinner with him, and he'd been planning to propose to her.

Bien did his best to keep her safe for the last five years. The reason he had to take extreme measures despite her disapproval. However, Akesha wouldn't voice it out. She'd always been obedient to everything he said. And that was what he liked about her.

Akesha's eyes were fixed on the princess-cut diamond ring. It took her a while before she looked at Hyrum again. "Why, all of a sudden?"

Bien's lips twitched up and formed a confident smile. "We have been together for half a decade. We already know each other, and I don't see a reason why we shouldn't get married?"

Akesha gently put down the silverware on her plate. She couldn't even taste her favorite wagyu steak because of Bien's sudden proposal.
