Chapter 6 – Hospitalization

  Dhruv’s POV

"You were attacked last night?! " Lionel yelled at me as he entered my room.

I simply inserted my finger into my ear to make sure it wasn't injured by Lionel's loud speech. I sipped a glass of water before responding to Lionel's question.

"Yeah, I was assaulted, but I'm not that badly injured to be taken to a hospital," I replied to Lionel's query while also complaining that bringing me to a hospital is an overreaction.

After being pinned with a dead attacker on top of my body last night, I stood up, moved the body away from me, and walked towards the broken window, looking at the building across to my company where the bullets had come this made me think a lot of stuff all night until morning as I sat on my chair contemplating my suspicions and all of a sudden, I heard a loud shriek across from me and it was one of my employees who witnessed the dead body on the floor and my bloodied clothes as she collapses from horror.

And here I am forced to be admitted even though I only have a scratch on my neck.

"It's best to be sure Ruv, and do you know who attacked you last night?" " Lionel expressed his thoughts about his friend's admission to the hospital was a wise decision, while also asking about his assailant.

"I didn't have time to ask him because, as you can see, he was dead before I could start interrogating him," I said as I sat on my bed.

"Perhaps the person who murdered your assailant was also his accomplice, and when his accomplice realized that his partner was about to fail, he just killed it to avoid disclosing anything?" " Lionel speculating on what had occurred to my attacker's death.

"Perhaps, but I don't think it was an accomplice since that person shouldn't have shot his hand first and would just shoot his head straight away, correct?" I also provided my own interpretation for what had occurred.

"Yeah, what you stated is correct, Ruv, and if the individual who fired the shots was not an accomplice, who is this second person? What was his goal in rescuing you last night? " Lionel agreed with what I stated and questioned the identity of the person who saved me last night.

That was also the question that bothered me the entire night. Who was it that saved me, and why did they do so?

A quick tap on the door broke my stream of thought, and I looked to the door, puzzled as to who had knocked. "Come in," I said as a response.

Slowly, the door opened and someone entered my room. It was the new secretary squirrel employed by Lionel. When she entered my room, she was wearing a timid expression and looked at both Lionel and me.

"They ordered me to come here and give the documents you need to sign, sir," Squirrel said as she approached my bed and placed a bag full of paperwork inside.

I gave the squirrel?a chilly gaze. " Why are you so late? " I questioned her in an irritating tone, but I was just pretending to be irritated with her while secretly teasing her.

Her expression shifted as she glanced at me with terror in her eyes. "I apologies for being late, sir. After reading the message sent last night in the morning, I quickly came to your office, but I saw there were police officers on your office, and I tried hard to finish cleaning your office as soon as I arrived because I was told to clean your office." she stated, anxiety in her voice.

"who told you that you had to clean my office? " I was startled to hear what she told me.

How could that person order the squirrel before I can ask her to clean it on my own orders!

"It was the police officers who were still in your office," she replied once again.

How dare those cretins do this to me! Just wait till I exact my vengeance on those cops.

"So, you were the Secretary provided by the firm that I inquired about finding an employee for the job," Lionel said, staring at her with astonishment in his eyes.

The squirrel became timid as she looked at Lionel, who was standing next to?me. "Yes sir," Squirrel replied with a bashful grin as she straightened her hair.

"Hmm... The company made a wise choice in hiring a gorgeous lady like you to be my friend's secretary. Are you Ms. Damore?" " Lionel commended her attractiveness, asked for confirmation of the squirrel's name, and began flirting with the squirrel, which irritated me.

"Yes, Sir, Nisha Ebony Damore," she replied to Lionel's query and introduced herself.

Lionel was equally taken by the squirrel's name, saying, "Your name also seems beautiful Ms. Damore, it fits you." Lionel smiled as he praised the squirrel again.

Because I was becoming irritated of Lionel flirting with the squirrel, I twisted the side of his stomach and felt him gasp in agony.

"Ruv, that hurts!" In agony, he yelled. "What the heck is your problem?" Lionel said, shocked and angry in his voice.

"Oh, I figured I should remind you about your important meeting today with your important client today, Lionel," I remarked innocently. "Because I noticed you forgot about it," I said mischievously.

When Lionel grasped what I meant, he looked at his watch in his arm and said, "Oh crap! pleasure meeting with you, Ms. Damore, I better leave," as he dashed out to my room.

Finally, that jerk has left, and I can return to teasing my new assistant in front of me, I murmured quietly to myself as I planned all the things I should tell the squirrel to do.

"What happened last night, Sir? Were you attacked? " The squirrel asked, her voice anxious, as she looked at my face.

"Yeah, but I'm Alright, just a scratch on my neck," I said flatly, my tone devoid of emotion.

  “That’s good then...”

I returned my gaze to her as I sat back down on my bed. "Did you say anything? " I questioned.

She was taken aback by my query and quickly composed herself, "Nothing sir, do you have anything to ask me to go get?" " She asked if I had an order for her.

"Can you buy some meal from a Chinese restaurant? I don't enjoy eating hospital cuisine," I said, instructing her to go out and get some.

“Okay what kind of Chinese foo- “

The door suddenly swung open, surprising both of us and forcing us to look at the person who had entered the room.

"Dear, are you all, right?" Isolabella keres Vahl approaches me with a distressed voice, touching my body with her filthy hands.

I slap her hands away from me and stare at her angrily, "What are you doing here?" " I questioned, cruelly.

"I heard you were assaulted in your office, honey! I came straight away to see if you were okay," Isolabella stated to me, her countenance disgusted as she pretended to be concerned about what had happened to me.

I turned away from her and began to glance at the paperwork that squirrel had handed me when she came in order to find an excuse to ignore Isolabella. "If you are done checking, leave as you can see, I am occupied with these documents," I informed her coldly.

Isolabella snatched the paperwork from my grasp and snarled at me, "Why are you working instead of relaxing, honey?! You were assaulted last night, so you need to recuperate! " She reprimanded me for working despite being attacked.

"I wasn't seriously harmed, so it's fine; can you please return that document to me, Isolabella?" " I told her again, demanding that she return the paper she had stolen from me.

She shakes her head as she says, "No, as your wife, you are going to rest, and that's the end of it!" Isolabella stated firmly, referring to herself as my wife.

How could she refer to herself as my wife? She was the only one who proclaimed to be my wife, but I never regarded her as being such.

"Don't you dare-" I was about to say something back to Isolabella when I noticed the squirrel snatch back the paperwork Isolabella was holding, which stunned both of us.

Isolabella turned to face the squirrel, who was merely giving her a serene expression. "Who the hell are you bitch?! " She demanded of the squirrel; her voice furious.

The squirrel smiled warmly at her, not fearful of Isolabella, and raised an eyebrow at her. "Then who are you as well?" " She remarked, her voice solemn.

I didn't expect the squirrel's response to Isolabella; this is becoming intriguing. I'll simply remain quiet and wait to see what happens next in this exchange. This was the first time someone, especially an employee, had spoken back to Isolabella.

"Did you not hear me say it? Are you truly deaf that you didn't even hear it?! " Isolabella was shocked and enraged, so she insulted the squirrel.

Oh, Isolabella is getting out of hand. Calling the squirrel deaf is not a good idea, and I should intervene. While I was preparing to lecture Isolabella for offending squirrel. I came to a halt as I heard the squirrel chuckle.

"How come I can hear you clearly if I'm deaf?" Where were your comprehension skills you received in school Madam, I was asking you what's your name, not your relationship with my employer, it's evident you're merely his wife," the squirrel said, gazing at Isolabella in an unpleasant manner.

Oh, my goodness! This is really surprising.

Isolabella had become deep red with shame and rage after hearing the remark that the squirrel had returned to her, and I was simply silently giggling on the side, loving what I had witnessed.

“How dare you to say insulting things to me!” Isolabella said angrily at squirrel and was going to slap her face.

Before I could react to protect the squirrel from getting slapped by Isolabella, the squirrel grabbed Isolabella's arm to keep her from smacking her in the face. Isolabella attempted to break the squirrel's?grip on Isolabella's wrist, but the grip was too tight, and squirrel is stronger?than Isolabella.

"Let me go, you b*tch! I'm going to sue you for what you did! " Isolabella threatens the squirrel with legal action.

The squirrel?simply scoffed at Isolabella's warning, as if she was joking. "Go ahead and tell them how you insulted me first, and I'll tell them I just defended myself to your insulting statements that you uttered to me, so I just insulted you back as a defense to myself," the squirrel stated confidently.

Oh, that's a terrific answer! I discreetly congratulated the squirrel while maintaining a calm demeanor.
