CHAPTER 62

　　Maxine

　　I woke up to find Luca gone and Marie sitting in a chair watching TV and my mother sitting on the edge of the bed.

　　"It's about time you wake up and you're going to sleep through your own ceremony. Come you have to shower and eat so you can start getting ready," Marie said.

　　I climbed out of bed and made my way to the shower. I did my business, brushed my teeth, and threw on some sweats for the time being. I walked back into my room and sat back on the bed. My mom had brought me in some lunch since I had slept through breakfast. The tray was packed with twice as much food and I gave her a questioning look.

　　"You're eating for two now and I want my grand baby well fed. Don't try telling me you aren't pregnant because a mother knows," she said firmly.

　　"Actually mom, they're grand babies."

　　"What?" she said, confused.
