Third Person’s POV
The groom was about to run but—
Everyone was shocked when one man shot his gun towards the groom's leg, but the shot was purposely not intended to hit so it only made a slip to the groom's pants.
The tragedy happened so fast that they leave the church with terror news.
THE DAUGHTER OF THE NUMBER ONE MULTIBILLIONAIRE IS KIDNAPPED.
~~
The news was all over the televisions, radios, newspapers, and billboards; traveled in a snap of lighting from person to person. Just the power behold by well-off people.
Inside a dark room, there was the bride, wearing her wedding gown full of dirt. Her hair is messy and her make up loose but it never had any effects on her beauty. Her feet are chained, together with her hands.
The dark room only relies on the small gas lamp hanging on the ceiling. The room wasn't that much small, three people could fit in. There's a futon for her to sleep on.
Two bonnet men were guarding outside the room. They were playing a chessboard games while betting on their money.
A minute later, a bonnet man approaches them; he is holding a tray of plate with food and water.
"Code, R.A. For food," he said. One man stands and open the locked door.
As the man entered, the door closed. There, the man saw how the woman sit and bow her head. He examined her condition; seeing her hands full of dirt, and her reddish feet. Maybe she is trying to remove the chains.
He sighed. "Eat," He walks toward her and squatted.
He was about to place the tray on the floor but he noticed the cockroaches roaming around; instead, he sit on the floor and put the tray on his legs.
"Please, don't kill me..." her voice cracked.
That is when the man hinted that the woman is crying. Days after when they kidnapped her, his heart began to pity her. He can't help but volunteer to deliver food for her and be the guard at night.
"R.A, we are going. Keep an eye on her." The two men's footsteps walking away are heard.
Silence eats up the whole room. He doesn't know why he cannot help staring at her with such pity, although he can't see her full face due to her bowed head and messy hair.
He sighed.
"Hey..." he broke the silence. "Listen, we will not kill you, I promise..."
"The hell your promise... a kidnapper promised. How irony,"
"...It's not like I want this..." he lowered his gaze to the tray of food.”Just eat this, you need to gather energy," he put the tray on the futon and walk outside.
He is now the guard for the rest of the night. He sits down on a wooden chair and removed his bonnet. He brushes up his hair with frustration.
"Get a grip, you need this, your family needs this," he lecture himself multiple times just to remember why he was there. "Focus, you are the ace of the team."
Soon as he finished his sentence, he heard loud coughing inside the room. Frantically, he ran inside making the wooden chair fall, and forgetting to wear his bonnet. He saw the woman trying to reach the glass of water spilled on the floor. Food on the plate wasn't even moved, but why does she cough?
"Hey, what did you do?!" he squatted.
The woman held her chest. "...Please... help me... I can't breathe..."
He held the woman's chin and lift up her face.
She was so beautiful.
"I can't breathe... why you all don’t... believe me..."
"What?!" the man cried with his knotted brows.
Seems like the other guards don't care if he'll die here inside the room, but he does!
He saw the heavy movements of her chest and her trembling hands. He notices her dried lips and her eyes full of tears.
He held her hands and looked at her directly in the eye. "Follow me, inhale... exhale... inhale... exhale..."
They repeated the sequence until the woman gradually breathes normally.
"Are you okay now?" he pushed her hair to her back and pinned the other little hair at the back of her ears. "Does your chest aches?"
She didn't answer. She stared and can't contain her curiousness. She's seeing his expressive eyes, but not his face because of the dim light. She was about to touch his face when suddenly he pulled his elbow and covered his face. He ran outside and locked the door.
~~
Days passed.
He continues delivering her food with a bonnet on for safety. They cannot reveal their faces and identity.
But during those days, the women became gentle with him and even tried to talk to him. He only responds with minimal words.
"Where do you live?" she asked.
"Somewhere," he responded.
He was sitting on the floor with a tray on his lap; not minding the dirt his pants could get, as long as the woman in front of him eats the food he cooked.
"What do you mean somewhere? Nearby?"
"No, far,"
"How far?" The woman was so curious about him.
"Just... finish your food will you?"
"I will if you will answer one question I have in mind."
She became so warm to him. Gentlewoman with soft features definitely could make men fall in love with her.
"Why are you here?" she asked a question that made the man stiffen. "I don't think you belong here,"
But then he didn't answer.
Their leader called a meeting to discuss the following plans for the woman.
They held the woman to the meeting.
"If we don't get the money, or anything else that leads to failure, kill the prisoner. I was called by the higher-ups, and it was their command."
He hid his shocked emotion and took a glance at their prisoner who is now crying because of the news.
It was a kidnapping for ransom, but for some reason, of course, police and agents will not let this thing surpass.
"Code R.A. Since you are the leader of this, I expect no failure. Things got played at the back of our palms because of you; you are one lucky clover we had."
Little did they know, things became much more interesting.
That night, Code R.A. opens her room and helped her escape.
And that was the biggest decision he made that made his life change ever since.
