Chapter 23

　　“Nervous?” Adam asked the moment he started the car engine, taking a glance at Kara who was seated beside him in the front passenger’s seat. She had desperately wanted to sit at the back with the kids but the car Adam was taking out this evening wasn’t that spacious. The back could only fit in two car seats so she had no choice but to unwillingly sit in front with him.

　　“You could have taken one of the other cars.” She mumbled as he drove out of the mansion.

　　“I could, but I didn’t.”

　　“Why?” She asked immediately.

　　“Haven’t taken this for a ride in a long time.”

　　Helen rolled her eyes at him.

　　“I saw that, Babe!” He accused, with his attention on the road.

　　Helen’s eyes widened.

　　“What?” He said with a small smile, taking a glance at her.

　　“You should stop with the endearments. Especially when your kids are around.” She said sternly, but with a lower voice. She was glad little Calvin’s attention was on his ipad.
