　　“This looks good.” She mumbled the moment she sighted Adam’s drink on the table close to where she was seated. She reached for it.


　　“Don’t!!!” Adam said but it was too late. Helen took it all in one gulp.


　　“This tastes soooo...” She said, staring at the now empty cup. “Why did you give me something different?” She turned her attention to Adam Sleeves.


　　“I remember you don’t like alcohol. Didn’t want you to think I intentionally made you drunk. You shouldn’t have drank that. It’s too strong for you.”


　　Helen rolled her eyes, returning the cup to the table. “You’re so fucking bossy.” She whispered.


　　“Have I not always been?” He smirked, making her roll her eyes at him again.


　　“I’m no longer that scared, naive girl you used to know. Life experiences turned me into an adult way faster than I wanted to.” Adam was glad to hear her confess about knowing him but his heart ached due to the pain he saw in her eyes.
