58. The Little Soldiers

I guess they were the ones that knew and they told everyone about it. If that is what really happened, they had known the 'resurrection' of that creature, right?

We tried to make jams from apples that Ane picked up from the garden today. She taught me how to make it based on the recipe from her mother. Ane's family had a bakery and sometimes made jams to be sold. Some servants helped her peel the apples, one big basket of overripe apples. I didn't help much, just took out baskets of the apple skin for the horses.

We used a huge crock to make it. The apples were chopped down into small pieces, put into the crock, and added little water. The overripe apples were easy to get soft so that they were easy to blend only with some stirs. Ane used a big stirrer like an oar for that huge crock.
