CHAPTER 14

Lexi couldn’t get the kiss out of her head. She tried not to let it affect her, but she couldn’t concentrate on planning her mother's wedding to her taste.

“Did you call the caterer honey?” Her mother's voice snapped her out of her dreamland.

  “Huh?” she mumbled.

“What is wrong with you these days? You keep zoning out on every conversation.”

“I am fine, mom, I just have a lot on my mind.”

“And you can’t share it with me?” Daphne asked.

“It's nothing much, so you need not worry.”

“If you say so, have you called the caterer?”

  “Jesus!” Her eyes widened

“Don’t tell me it is what I am thinking?” Daphne glared at her.

“I’m so sorry, mom. I forgot to call them… I have been so busy with the preparations that I didn’t remember that.”

Daphne placed her finger to hush her words, before pulling her to sit beside her on the couch

“Tell me what is wrong with you,” Daphne stared into her eyes, and she did her possible best not to give away her secret.
