Was he implying that she was stupid? Well, maybe she wasn't entirely dumb. Although most of her time spent on Earth, studying science and technology, wasn't very useful for anything, there were occasions when she managed to solve mathematical equations and write codes, which were considered genius amongst the other children on her class. She was pretty sure she could pass any exam given, even the most difficult ones. But this was the first time in her entire life that someone had dared to compare her to a kid her age.

It made her furious. Who did he think he was? The guy was practically mocking her intelligence. And the worst thing was he knew her name now. He knew that she was from another dimension and she was afraid of his power. So, when he questioned her ability to perform magic without a wand, it stung badly.

Before she had the chance to respond, however, the man stopped abruptly and glanced over his shoulder at the door behind him.

"Wait here," he ordered her as he turned around, then disappeared inside the building next to the apartment block.

Pexy furrowed her brows. What was going on? Did he know someone was here? Did he have backup? What did he mean by 'wait'? She sat down on the curb again and waited patiently.

Ten minutes later, the man appeared, holding a gun pointed at her direction. It was the same weapon she had seen him use a few days earlier on the street. As if he had predicted her fears, he placed the gun down on a table between them. Then he put his hands in his pockets and stared at her for a few seconds.

Finally, he sighed. "Look, I told you I won't hurt you. Okay? But you need to leave this place."

"What are you doing? Where are you taking me?" She couldn't stop herself from asking more and more questions. She felt angry and frustrated. How could anyone be this reckless? Wasn't he afraid of something? Didn't he realize how dangerous this world was? Wasn't it obvious to him that she'd rather die than stay here forever?

The man rolled his eyes. "Look, kid. All I'm trying to tell you is that I'm not a threat to you. I am a threat to others... like whoever this lady is. I know she's your girlfriend. Now get out of here!"

"But why? Why can't I stay here?"

He let out a dry chuckle. "Because… if she sees you, it won't be good for you. Trust me... I've been watching you for quite some time. Don't forget... you're mine now."

Chapter 15: You Should Stay Away From Him

The sound of the door opening brought both Percabeth and Peridot back to reality. They both quickly snapped out of it when they saw their boyfriend walk inside carrying a big bag and a small cardboard box.

Percy smiled as he spotted the two girls sitting on the couch staring at him with their mouths hanging open. Neither of them were wearing shoes, so they were covered in dirt as they stared wide-eyed at Percy as if he was about to give birth to twins or something.

Percy placed the box on the kitchen table and walked over to them with the biggest smile on his face. He sat down on the sofa and placed one arm on the backrest while placing his hand on the armrest between Peridot and Pexy. They both glanced over at each other, then at him. Neither of them spoke a word. Neither of them could. They simply stared at each other, wondering what the hell they were supposed to say.

Percy sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. He wasn't sure what to make of their reaction. "Guys... I'm sorry if that was weird. Is everything alright?"

They both still refused to speak.
