Chapter 5: Bri

"So what's really going on with you and Jacob?" Oliver asked as we headed out further. "Honestly I have no idea. He walked me home cause he knew I didn't want to talk to you. Then he kissed me in a weird way." Oliver stopped and dove under a wave and I followed. "He kissed you! I'm gonna fucking kill him." I laughed. "And what do you mean by weird?" He glared at me before stopping and straddling his board. "It was unexpected since he had yelled at me earlier, but it was weird. Different then other kisses I've had." Ollie flipped my board. "Other kisses! What other kisses?" I slid back up on the board.

"Yes other kisses, I was what seven when you left and now I'm eighteen. Did you think I was staying seven." He huffed and crunched his face sce up. "Are you still a.. Have you ever ugh." I laughed and flipped his board. When he came up I shook my head. "I have and I am not talking about my sex life with you unless you want to talk about yours big brother." He glared and started to paddle. He caught it and I watched as he rode it in. A girl walking went to grab him but he shook his head and came back out to meet me.

"Before you ask that was Bri, my ex girlfriend. She was a gold digging whore and chested on me with Jacob." I nodded understanding the pain of being cheated on. I felt a little jealous that Jacob had been with her but shook it off. I caught the next wave needing time to recover. I was with other people before him. Hell I barley knew him, and now I knee for sure he was a player whom slept with his friends girlfriends I wasn't so sure I would ever go for him. Not that I was even sure I'd be staying...

"I hope you don't think younare going to fuck my boyfriend out there." Bri said as she pointed to Oliver and placed her hands on her skinny hips. I laughed and looked over st him to see him standing on the board and waving me back. "Oh Ollie?" I said as she nodded, her curly hair falling over her shoulder. "That be really gross since he's my brother." I smiled and turned running back in with the board. "Please tell me she want rude?" He said as I paddled closer. "Nah she just didn't want me to and I quote fuck her boyfriend."

We both made a face and tried to knock each other off our boards. Leah swam oit followed by the twins and Zane who all had boards. I helped Leah get on my new board. "Let's leave a little earlier so I can get you a board from the shop theres a purple one." She smiled and sat cross legged. "Oliver I don't know if you remember, but this is Leah my best friend." He nodded and the guys stayed quiet. "I remembered after last night's cold water." He smiled and she grinned. "Don't be a prick to my girl then."

He shook his head as Jacob came running down the beach with a board. "Way to text a guy you fucks!" He yelled as he paddled out towards us. "That man has it bad for you Valor." Zane said as he eyed me. "He better not." Oliver shot as I just shrugged. "Come on Leah I'll take you to get your board now before the my dick is bigger challenges start." They all laughed and Mark yelled. "It's mine." I told her to turn and center herself before paddling into a wave and riding to shore. "I think it's mine I yelled before we rode to shore.

I put my board away and walked to Paco's shop with Leah. I grabbed the purple one, but she liked a yellow one better. Sunflowers stamped the bottom of it and I paid Paco. "Paco I'm not sure how to say this." He nodded and skid the board toward Leah. "I know you are leaving and leaving you must." I nodded and hugged the weirdo. "Will you still work mornings." I shook my head having made three grand at Joe's last night. Plus tips, he nodded and I packed my things leaving his key by the door.

"Thanks again Paco and I'm sorry to leave you short handed." I handed him a grand and he shook his head. "I'll send customers this way for sure and I'll see you around." I waved as Leah walked me to the red house after trying to placing her board in the twins shed. "Yikes!" There where paddles and boogie boards and a bunch of junk in there. "Just put it in Oliver's he has room." We carried it to the red house and she put it inside. We waxed our boards and watched the guys catch waves.

"So you two made up?" She asked as I opened a wax for her. "Kind of... I mean don't get me wrong. I'm still mad, but less so then yesterday. I think Oliver just knows exactly what to say." As always she snickered and I tossed a rag at her. The twins came barreling up to us. "Your brother made a huge mistake." I stood up to talk to them. "What he do?" They looked at each other. "He made a bet with Jace." I shrugged okay so he had to clean up of he looses. They both gulped and I had a very bad feeling. "Tomorrow morning they are going to race near the cliffs. If Oliver wins he backs off you and if Jacob wins he gets to take you on a date." Mark as Mike continued on explaining. "Near the cliffs is dangerous many surfers crash on the rocks or get smashed into them by the waves. It's not a good area to surf safe."

I took off and both bous where arguing still thay they didn't see me coming and I shookntheir boards. "Do I not get a say on who I date?" I dunked my brother. "And who the hell are younto dare my brother into doing something dangerous." I dunked Jacob. Both came up grabbing for their boards. "It was Oliver's idea." Jacob spat as he climbed up I slapped Oliver as he held out a hand to help me up. "Are you dumb? You are the only family I have left." Oliver looked guilty and I turned to Jacob. "If you two do this and Oliver gets hurt I will never forgive either of you. I stood on the board and dove off.

I walled back to the twins and Leah. "Pick me up tomorrow before you go, I know Oliver's to stubborn to back down, and I'm assuming Jacob is too." They nodded and I pit away my board. "Leah I'm gonna go get ready for work. I'll meet you there." She nodded and gave me a worried look, but I ignored it. I headed inside and showered. Inwrapped myself in a towel before heading to my room. Oliver sat on my bed. "Get out." He did and in dressed for work. I opened the door while braiding my hair. "I didn't go through years of torture and travel here to watch you die." He nodded and inleft him there.

I walked to Joe's and started tomrpepare for my shift. At seven Jacob walked behind the bar. "Not talking to me." I ignored him and continued to work. Two hours later and Jacob kept trying to get me to talk. "Okay Okay I get it I'll back out if you talk to me." I turned glaring at him. "Your an idiot. If you think I believe you." He smiled and pointed. "Got you to talk, and I promise I will. As long as you go on a date with me." I shook my head. "If you back put you loose and can't pursue me."

He nodded and grabbed another order. "True, but you can pursue me." He slid the drinks down toward another waitress. "And why would I do that? You recklessly bet and put my brothers life in danger. Plus you bet on me like inwas a trophy." I seethed as I poured shots for the couple in front of me. "Oh and you fucked Bri, while he was dating my brother." He froze a second and looked up. "It was a bet." I let out a fake laugh and left him behind the bar alone. "Valor! Come on." Joe opened the screen. "Did you piss her off?" I heard Joe yell as he laid a plate in the warming bay.

Joe ran after me. "I know I said eight, but will you pick up your brothers table. Leah and Bailey are swamped." He put his hands together as if he where praying. "Fine." I let out before grabbing a pad and pen.

"Hey guys what can I get you all?" Mark and Mike ordered cheeseburgers and ceaser salads with two cokes. Oliver ordered nachos with all the toppings and a Heineken, and Zane ordered the catfish with a Corona. I grabbed theire drinks stopping by the bar to grab the beers. "I really like you Valor, just give me a chance." Jacob whispered as he pooped the tops for me. I ignored ores him grabbing the bottles and the cokes I already poured. "Come on." He yelled as I walled back to the last wooden table dealing out drinks.

"Valor are you going to talk to me?" Oliver said and I slammed his beer in front of him before giving the others there's nicely. Someone snapped their fingers. "You hey you waitress." She snapped again and Mark and Mike said Ut-oh at the same time. I slowly turned to see Bri snapping her fingers at Leah. Leah ran to her, but I beat her to the table. "Did you just snap at her?" Bri turned and Leah knew I was about to blow. My anger problems have never been I check. "Valor it's okay." She said as she touched my arm softly. I turned to glance st her before turning back to Bri. "Snap at her again, and I'll shove my fist up your ass." She was bold as she snapped her fingers in my face.

I grabbed her arm and pulled her over the table. "Valor." Leah screamed as the whole bar got quiet. Jacob grabbed a bit expecting there to be a huge fight and yelled for his brother. I dragged her outside and tossed her on the wood pallets. "Apologies you pampas ass." Bei stood and fixed her dress. "No that's her job. To waitress on us, she was being to slow." I punched her in the eye and Leah screamed Jacob finally got through the crowd as I kicked her down the ramp. "Apologize!" She again got up as Oliver told her to stay down.

She didn't listen and came after me grabbing on to one of my braids and trying to swing. I pulled to the right and grabbed her throat. "Valor." Oliver stepped between us. "Valor come on look at me." I looked at Oliver and he shook his head. I dropped her and kicked her again before turning and  walking through the people.

A bunch of people hollered and the two girls she sat with whispered I was crazy. When Joe got back into the kitchen he rang my order and as he plated them he kept looking at me. "You going to fire me?" Joe shook his head. "No, I'm just concerned for you. Tell you what no one will disrespect you or your friend after tonight." He smiled releasing some of the stress I held in.
