"What the heck was that?" Jenna spat at me before I could follow Scarlett to the backyard door of the club. "You don't have any idea how this news will break and your in-laws are going to make a fuss about this."
The last thing I wanted to do now was to explain my plan to anyone, not even Jenna. I needed Scarlett to trust me, she had suffered through a lot.
I wasn't there to comfort her when her sister died, she needed me and I left her alone, all by herself though I was supposed to share her pain and soothe her. I have been a ridiculous mate to her but not anymore.
Holding Jenna from her shoulders, I looked into her green emerald eyes that were filled with concern for me. "Look, Jenny, I need you to trust me. I know what I'm doing, I've prepared for everything," assuring her, I left her behind and skedaddled to the backyard.
